He stalls out at where he's taken OM, currently. He's a James Franklin-level HC.

Maybe. He's doing it at Ole Miss, though.

Dude is winning but there are a ton of middle aged men from at least 3 schools with an unhealthy obsession over him at the moment

For sure. The melts will be something to behold. Just waiting to see which fanbases melt now.

The board's obsession with Lane Kiffin is weird

I personally do not care about what seems like a constant obsession on this board regarding Lane Kiffin’s future. I’ll find out when change happens, if at all.

As a UGA fan, I have to ask myself, “Well, what if he ends up at UF, supposedly our most hated rival?”

I still don’t care. Or at least not enough to put in any real time and effort to keep up with the ongoing social media storm.

That stated, when I feel like I’m starting to get annoyed at the flood of posts speculating about Kiffin, I have to remind myself:

1) It’s not about me.
2) This board is named the SEC Rant for a reason.
3) There are 15 other teams in this conference; not just mine.
4) I need to recognize that even though I may not be very interested, many others are; there are at least 4 SEC teams currently looking for a head coach. Kiffin’s name is constantly mentioned as a realistic potential option in at least two of those situations.
4) It’s not about me.

and it’s an LSU site at its basis and lsu is looking for a coach, with kiffin, coaching another sec school bound for the playoffs, as a top target.

If BK was still at lsu I think the pandemonium would be a lot less

Lane's been a HC for over a decade and has not even won a SEC championship

He’s been the head coach in the SEC for over a decade? Huh, the more you know.

He’s gone 10-3, 8-5, 11-2, 10-3, and currently 10-1.

He’s 3-1 vs the top 10 since 2023.

Are you implying Georgia and Ole Miss are on equal grounds? Sure seems that way. Maybe Georgia isn’t a blue blood and Kirby is just that good.

There’s an obsession with Kiffin because college football is religion and of extremely high entertainment value to a large amount of people. I’m surprised that so many on an SEC message board of all places still don’t understand this.

how many sec titles do you think Kirby would win at Ole Miss or South Carolina?

Good Q CAW. UGA quickly fired Richt when it looked like Kirbs was headed to Columbia.

Guessing he would’ve been very successful in Cockville w/ his maniacal recruiting focus. Probably better than the Spurrier years. I suspect that they’d be much more successful than UGA right now if he’d gone there and UGA kept Richt then went fishing for a coach when CMR retired due to Parkinson’s.

Boy is it. We tiger fans are being set up for a huge disappointment and I believe it would be the best for us. Lane is strange kat and I just don’t see him fitting in BR. Truthfully I just want a coach that will not dance with recruits on that silly arse camera in the locker room. Not asking for alot!!

I personally think he has grown into a solid head coach. The man was born on third base but he has matured over the years. He took an Ole Miss program that had been crippled by NCAA sanctions and Matt Luke and turned it into a force to be reckoned with. If they beat Mississippi State next week they are all but guaranteed a CFP berth. At Ole Miss. Even in the expanded playoff era I don't think that is something Ole Miss fans ever thought to be possible. Most had been happy winning 7 or 8 games and beating Mississippi State.

Kiffin has changed the expectations of that program forever.

From a playcalling perspective it would be great to get him but do I foresee a Saban type run - no I don't
