I want Bama.
I'd rather lose by fifty then have a team scared to play another. They'd beat us sure. Very little doubt. But avoiding Atlanta out of fear is nonsense. If we want to get back to dominance, we have to prove ourselves to the best. Which means going at the monster, not hiding from it.

If Notre Dame wins out and Alabama loses in the SECCG......the latter is not going to happen, but if it did....Alabama would go to the playoff over the SEC Champion....there is no way Alabama with one loss gets left out of the mix and 2 SEC teams and ND means 3 of ACC, Big 10, Big 12 and PAC 10 Champs gets left out of the mix.....as long as it ain’t UGA being leap frogged by Bama...ain’t going to happen....we ain’t beating Bama.....that shite would be EPIC! The big 12 and PAC 10 are already out if ND wins out and only 1 SEC team is in....imagine Clemson’s or Ohio State being kept because UK beats Alabama in the SEC CG

The OP has a point. Quite often the loser of the SEC title game gets kind of screwed on the bowl bid.
That UGA team that lost to Bama in 2012 deserved better than a Capital One bowl.
