Why? Why would they accept that? they want to win just like everybody else, and from time to time they do very well. I like Alabama fans as a whole, but some of you guys really have no idea how arrogant you sound.

I’m mostly trolling the guy and AU fans, but what I wrote is DOCUMENTED.

They literally have a historic 8-5 record. They have 2 NCs in their history. One was 61 years ago and it was won while on probation and banned from the postseason.

They have had back to back 10 win seasons ONCE in their history. They thought Cam and the NC in 2010 would take Bama down and run Saban out of town. Then it was Kick Six and Gus.

They are a good program and they definitely have given Bama fits in the IB rivalry. They don’t just WANT to be a blue blood program, they think they already are. The facts say they aren’t.

The problem is your team exist. What's not a problem is how laughable your team is. Looking forward to next week.

Auburn's problem is that they expect to be in contention for the national crown every single year. Those are unrealistic expectations for a school like Auburn, especially when you consider the fact that it's been three decades since the school put together back-to-back 10-win seasons.

The PROBLEM is that Gus lost AT HOME to Tennessee and embarrased us in doing so.
The PROBLEM is that Gus is 1-4 in bowl games.

Once again...NO.

Auburn IS historically a top-15 program and top-15 programs should be in the playoff conversation in a lot of years and the years that they are not, they shouldn't be 6-6 or 7-5...especially when averaging ytop-10 recruiting classes and paying your coach top-5 money.

Our OL talent is FCS level. Our RB Corp is a complete joke.

Gus needs to be fired, his recruiting this year and the previous 2 yrs will crush AU in the future.

A quick glance shows some really good players signed, but where are the OT's? OT is 2nd in importance to QB, who will protect Nix, and open holes for the RBs?

Just curious, why isn't Asa Martin playing more?

I don't mean to get in the middle of you guys, but I think Lanier's point is your classes are top 10, but you lack in OLine talent, and in a couple of other places...and that makes the overall talent really less than top 10.

That is the way I interpreted his comment, anyway. If Auburn doesn't do something to address the OLine recruiting, it's going to take a long time to recover.

Auburn pulls top 10 talent and has done so since Tubs left. They've had deficiencies in some critical areas, Oline/RB specifically and in the past the LB position was an issue.

But AU has had a retention problem and a few really talented players are no longer on the roster for whatever reason. It's great to pull top 10 classes, the fans love the * ratings and can brag and boast. But over a period of time when critical areas are neglected in the trenches (linemen) and in the key area that drives your offense (RB) then the results on the field are nothing to brag about.

This is true. Auburn is a top 6 program in the SEC and should be competing for a conference title every four year cycle. Gus has them right where they need to be.

Especially true with QB, WR, and RB.

It is time for Gus to go. Lose this weekend and it will be done. Win and he is probable safe. Beat UGA and he will be safe.

If it's indeed time for Gus to go, then why would another win or loss determine his future at AU?

Auburn's problem is simple. They are not the University of anything. Except they are the University of Overachieving. They are one off recruiters in 2 states. Alabama and Georgia and now Dabo is hurting them in Georgia. And they are competitive with a Miami, but not really UF or FSU in Florida. Which when taken as a whole is damn good. Therefore they usually have a damn good team. Particularly when they are second chance U. for tons of players and transfers. Their big years come when they build redshirts and transfers and recruits into a special season like last year. But it still is not quite THERE in todays throat cutting SEC some or much of the time. I go to their games (my child is an alum) and they, not LSU or Clemson, have the best fan support in America. As an Alabama fan I am somewhat jealous as Bama fans take more for granted than any group in America and games can be social occasions. Hell much of the Bama home crowd sits and applauds like they are at a theatre at times. And the students get drunk and leave at halftime to walk 75 yards to a frat house party. Now they (UA alums) grow up into medical, law and business people and throw cash at the program. But AU fans throw their souls into the games @ Auburn. So the team responds but at some point there is usually a point of declining effect.

Auburn had just one conference title in their trophy case this time 35 years ago.

I'm not talking about 35 years ago.

Not sure you understand what "historically' means.

Auburn is a top-15 program. Sorry if you disagree with facts.

With the talent Muschamp could bring in on defense and hire the right OC and staff, he would be a good option.
