So are they saying that Oats was a middle of the pack hire ?
Sounds like half like the hire and the other half hate it. Who were these staff members?

If you can convince The Athletic to hire you as GIF Master I will be happy to add your vote.

Your vote would move him to a T2, not 6th.

Keep up.

Hirings. Might show how much thought they put into it or if some were just following the lead.

Some of those folks are really good (Dana O'Neil for one). Some of them are boobs (Seth Davis).

Not sure if I agree with the hate of Cronin to UCLA. Would be surprised if he does not do well.

Which is my point. Who voted for who would prove my theory of who are the lemmings among the group.

His tournament success (or lack thereof) at a program like Cincy leaves a lot to be desired.

Think it depends on what the expectation is.

He will play his style, which is not visually pleasing to most. They will be a solid club, probably even a Top 10-20 team every year if he signs good players. But, if the expectation is Final Fours I'm not sure there is any evidence that he will do that (that's a bit of a ridiculous expectation, IMHO).

Howland's last 5 years they went to the 2nd round 2x, 1st round 1x and missed the NCAAT 2x. Alfords last 4 seasons they went to the S16 1x, 1st round 1x and missed the NCAAT 2x. So, if Cronin can get them to consistently getting to the tournament and getting to the 2nd weekend 2/3 of the time that should be considered a solid job IMHO.

- Basically everyone liked the Buzz hire. Greer and Hamilton specifically.

- O'Neil and Kyle Tucker (UK writer) like Oats a lot. O'Neil doesn't think Avery was good or in tune with the day to day, ancillary duties of a college coach.

- Hamilton thinks Cronin will do a solid job.

- Seth Davis loves Musselman

He's only advanced to the second weekend once in his coaching career.
