I was making a joke, implying Dabo was no. 1.

I don't get caught up in the best coach thing.

A lot of great coaches don't win much because of where they coach.

Kentucky didn't pass the eye test to me and they weren't playing high powered offenses.

Their best win was against Florida and Felipe Franks is one of the worst SEC QBs of all time in my view.

it is crazy a college like Florida can't recruit a better QB than that.

Florida invented gatorade...they deserve better

I support a 4 team SEC only playoff for the national title

and a 4 team Rest of Ya'll playoff for the other conferences.

Basically it would split the current upper division into two new devisions, SEC and ROY.

I'm good with Clemson winning ROY natties.

Then we could troll the SEC and claim to be the best team anyway, like UCF did, without having to back it up.

That way SEC fans are happy and we wont' have to hear about the superiority of the conference anymore. there has got to be mutual respect b/t conferences or it loses its fun.

however the final polls might actually rank a ROY champ over the SEC champ some years. lol

some of ya'll might hate this more than the current setup.

by your own logic, it would make it more difficult for your SEC team to win a natty b/c you would have to win two playoff games against other SEC teams to do it.

no more cupcake teams like ND, MSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon and ACC teams.

let's say you are Kentucky and you finally win the SEC title, but then you have to play Alabama and Georgia again to win the national title, two teams you beat to win the SEC title.

that would be a nightmare if you lost in playoffs

lol

The ten P5 teams Kentucky played had a cumulative average of 30.89 points a game. Kentucky allowed them 16.6 points a matchup.

Clemson allowed our three common opponents an average of 25.66 points a game. Kentucky allowed the same teams 13.33. Get a new set of eyes.

Don't hit Taters with the facts it just confuses them.

Cats are 8-5 against the Taters and it chaps their arse a basketball school has an edge in football on a football school. Sadly the Taters have only about a 2:1 win ratio against the Tar Heels in their own conference. Tar Heels are also a basketball school that happens to have a football team.

If the Taters were a real football power beyond say the past few years they would look more like Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State

88 wins for the Sooners
18 wins for the Pokes

SEC is the best conference but man ESPN’s constant promotion of the conference really diminishes the sport overall.

It is hard to argue against this point. The media should take a more balanced stance when it comes to sports and/or "hard" news.

quote:

I mean you’d think they should have 2 auto bids in the CFB playoff annually.

Should have? No. Could have? Yes. If the two best teams in the nation are in any conference they should be in the playoffs. The two times two SEC teams played for the National Championship it would be hard for anybody to argue that they were not the two best teams. I think they have done a pretty good job of populating the playoff overall.

Meanwhile Clemson kills a team being hailed by ESPN as the best team ever. What a joke.
Maybe. But an Ohio State fan should know that the best team doesn't always win a game....and sometimes the best team gets beaten badly. Purdue last year against OSU?
Iowa in 2017?

I am not saying Alabama had a better team than Clemson last year. Clemson had a pretty special team. Just saying that because a team gets beaten badly, does not necessarily mean the best team won the game.

They could.

1. Franks was highly recruited out of high school
2. Wil Grier went there originally
3. Driskell was highly recruited out of high school.

Florida's problem has been coaching and player development at QB, not talent recruited.

In the CFP era (the worst era in the history of Tennessee football), the Vols are 2-0 vs the ACC. 2017 vs Georgia Tech and 2016 vs Virginia Tech.

Easy, he trolls the non SEC folks for ratings then cherrypicks the lower end of the SEC brain trust for easy pickings to stereotype.

Yeah they have 8 wins but half of them before World War 2. I mean hell Yale and Army use to be powers. Let’s go back 25 - 50 years.

Kentucky was a mediocre team last year.

Lost to two best teams they played, UGA and Texas AM.

lol

They only beat Missouri 15-14 b/c of a special teams play.

I think NCSU, Cuse, BC with the QB healthy and other teams could have beat Kentucky this season.

Kentucky was 3 of 14 on 3rd down and 0 of 3 on 4th down against Mizzou but you don't think ACC teams can play with them. lol
