You'd think that if there was some grand burnt orange media conspiracy this wouldn't be the case.

Well, it's a big brand. I do think Texas gets the benefit of the doubt a lot of times. And there's also a sort of glee about tearing them down after building them up that doesn't occur on the same scale with other teams outside of the other big names. I also think there's something about being the flagship school of Texas, since the state itself and how we carry ourselves here creates some inherent polarization. A team like TCU, for example, when they were recently playing for the national championship, doesn't really tap into the inherent feelings about Texas as a state that the University of Texas does.

I don't know that it's a conspiracy. It's more like natural human dynamics in play. The big conspiracy theorists are over in College Station, but as you know that's mostly fueled by an institutionalized inferiority complex and little brother syndrome. They feel like Texas gets more attention than they deserve. I think they're right much of the time, but it's mixed with this feeling that A&M doesn't get as much attention as it deserves, and that's just victim mongering. A&M simply isn't as big a brand as Texas. Maybe that's unfair. I don't know. But that's the way it is. A&M can still be a big brand, but their focus as an institution is using Texas as the measuring stick. That's going to create all kinds of unhealthy dynamics for them. But that's their problem.

Lol...Just list the team QBs at the top that have the best team rosters besides the QB position and put the QBs that will entirely determine their own team's fate below them.

It felt like a dumb list. But there's a pressure to crank out content now that the season is almost upon us. And I'm eating it all up. But yeah, I feel like this list is really dumb.

Starting QB of a playoff team from last year seems like they could be pretty important.

I think a lot of people here are mistaking importance to the team with best players. Yes, Julian Sayin is more important to Ohio State's success this year than Caleb Downs and Jeremiah Smith. If Sayin sucks the team fails.

Likewise, if Gunner Stockton fails, then Georgia fails but he's probably not close to the best player on the team but is still the most important.

The tenner qb that took the money and ran isn’t on this list?

Lag should be higher..his head coaches job literally depends n how well he does...

Most important, not the best. Very, very different. This author clearly does not know the difference.Very sure Stockton can be replaced and Georgia will be fine..they have 5 and 4 stars as back ups...

24. Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State

hmm

He's the best WR in the country. But this is a list of most important, not best players. QB play is way more important than WR play.

People at the practice

They blurred it because they try to hide who is hurt. Its been wild to see how much that story took off

While not saying I agree with the Brock comparison necessarily, but Gunner has been at the program for a few years now, and Beck looked pretty good whenever he came in after having been in the program for a while.

My expectations for Gunner would be that he will be better than he looked in those 1.5 games, but he probably won't look like a completely different player from that guy either. Even as the second team guy he's had hundreds if not thousands of reps against a really good defense just in practice.

Why is Hypeall making hurt players practice? Is he a Lou Holtz disciple or something?

Number nine on that list could possibly be hurt. Just got taken down on the rant.

Beck's game action prior to his first year starting were in mopup duty in blowouts. Gunner was thrust into action at halftime against one of the best teams in the country and has only started 1 game, against a natty participant, with a shite supporting cast and banged up OL.

The two situations aren't even remotely comparable.

I agree and I think most would as well. HE won't look like arse as much as he did last year, but he's not going to be prime aaron murray or stafford either. If he can be an aldi-brand stetson bennett that'd be great news. Biggest problem is our lack of an elite OL and question marks at receiver.
