Ya, I'm sure tons of these kids from poor families can afford tuition, books, room/board, etc. for a semester during the greyshirt period.

I'm sure he could work for a living like 95% of his other friends for a summer too.

Why would he have to accept this? Why wouldn't one of the newer, or newest, recruit have to? He was committed way before the newest ones. Then, he was left out to dry.

So everything should be a first come first serve basis? Should Auburn tell it's alumni they don't get preferential treatment with seat purchases now, and they have to buy their tickets through the general public on a first come first serve basis? Yall are the most entitled group of folks I've ever seen.

How much is a semester of tuition at Bama, including books, apartment, etc...?

I doubt he could make that much money during one summer when being paid minimum wage.

You were in all the talks and know first hand what he was told? Have you not read that he was asked to do so months ago, and declined.

False. It was not months ago. No more than one month. And when he declined, he was told it was okay, he would still have a scholly. Then last week, it was forced on him. This info came from his coach. Not gonna waste my time finding a link for this shiite.

We aren't discussing Auburn, little brother. Stop bringing big brother up. They are out of the discussion.

You realize, when he enrolled the following Jan it'd be paid for and he wouldn't pay a dime. Yall are crying cuz he was told to wait and because he cried. That's the simple boiled down truth of the matter.

No, what happened here is that someone did not back up what they said. It was deception. But, you're right, it is real world. Let me tell you something else about the real world - "You reap, what you sow!"

He could have done like Kyron Samuels is doing. Mississippi State is essentially greyshirting him. He'll attend JuCo for a semester (on scholarship) and then enroll at State next January. However, Philon did not want that. He wanted to enroll in August. That was his choice.

And you were present to hear what went on. He was told he still had a scholly. Was he told when it would start? Was there talk of it possibly being deferred if anything else happened? I'm guessing you, like myself and everyone else here is going strictly off message board fodder.

It would seem to me that LSU fans would stay out of this discussion, considering the Elliot Porter disaster a couple of years ago.

With school, tutors, workouts, I doubt he would have much time. And what kind of job do you think he'll get? The cost of attendance at Alabama is $11,175.00 ( LINK)

It's about fairness outside. If one thing is fair one way, it's gotta be fair across the board. Can't have double standards, now can we?

So, making him wait 10 months for an 11k per semester benefit is horrible. Gotcha.

We've been hearing that the last 4 years. Guess what? ANOTHER #1 class and leading the nation again for next year.

And when Kyron Samuels gets injured, he won't have a place waiting at Miss. St.

Can you please cite a single greyshirt offer that didn't have a scholarship, once time came to enroll the following January? You won't be able to, but I'll ask the question anyway.

Please don't confuse him with the facts, no matter how inconvenient they may be for his position.

I guess we are more ignorant than he is, because we continue to argue with someone who can only be described as delusional. There is no way to describe what happened to Philon as anything other than shitty, and entirely preventable.

maybe Dyer should have cried. He'd still be on scholarship in Auburn.
