re: Brennan looked like Burrow when he started but Myles didn't get as much help from the D

No, he looks and plays nothing like Burrow and the comparison is ignorant.
You are an idiot! I simply stated that he held onto the ball too long which is EXACTLY the same that Burrow did when he first started. Go back & look for yourself. I was NOT saying that he is as good as Joe! I was ONLY stating that Joe in the beginning was NOT the same Joe that he turned out to be. Sorry, that was too complex for you!

The two aren’t really comparable at all. Attitude and demeanor say a lot about a QB and Brennan doesn’t have an ounce of what Burrow has.
I agree that Burrow is a once-in-a-lifetime qb, but I am not asking Brennan to win the NC, just a regular season game against MSU! And, he did not have much help from the defense.

Burrow never played scared, tentatively, or had the deer in the headlights look. Even in 2018 he carried himself with swag and attitude.
Brennan seems to obsessed with trying not to make a mistake. His real time processing of the field just isn't there.
Agreed, he is a different breed. I don't expect Brennan to be another Burrow, but Joe did struggle with sacks when he first started.
Sorry about the misspell!!!
re: Defense lost the game!

TOTALLY AGREE!! How do expect a qb in his first start ever to overcome a record breaking performance by his opponent. A record that is almost 30 years old! Bo better get his act together quick!!
Brennan looked like Burrow when he started but Myles didn't get as much help from the D

When Burrow started out his junior year, he would hold on to the ball too long & take too many sacks. However, the defense wasn't giving up record breaking passing yards either which gave LSU a chance to win. And, that is where Burrow showed his leadership to pull out games in the end, but the defense still did a much better job than what we saw yesterday.
Would Randy Moss rather have the most receiving TD's in a season 23 or a Super Bowl win?
Posted by cajun5tiger on 1/11/20 at 3:55 pm
I am sure Moss is proud of his record, but he would probably trade it for a perfect season & a NFL championship ring on his finger.
Maybe Coach O will get him to talk to the team about that. He was one of the all time greats!!! And, Thad has something special, too!

Stay hungry Tigahs & FINISH!!!

The team does not need to listen to any of the "rat poison". They may be favored & Dabo keeps taking the "underdog, this is like a road game, LSU has the greatest offense of all time, how can you stop them, blah, blah, blah".
Alabama was considered unbeatable last year! The New England Patriots were supposed to go undefeated & win Super Bowl 42, but it did not happen.
Finish Tigahs!! Play your game! Stay hungry! Do NOT be denied!!!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!

LSU's WR's & DB's better expect a physical game from their counterparts
Posted by cajun5tiger on 1/10/20 at 6:01 pm
Report says that Clemson WR's were embarrassed by letting OSU DB's be more physical with them. LSU should expect them to push hard on press coverage.
I would expect that the Clemson DB's will be all over LSU's WR's because they know how physical they are. It is going to be a war with the skilled positions.
LSU has the talent to play a physical game making the tough catches & preventing the tough catches, but the WR's & DB's need to be expecting this to be prepared.

Sheesh, you completely discredited yourself in the first 7 words of your post. Impressive.
Really, wasn't Bama being called the "greatest team of all time" by the offensive no.'s they were putting up last year?
I bleed purple & gold. I hate Bama with a passion & have to hear about them everyday living in AL.
I just don't want LSU to think that Clemson cannot beat them. Because, Clemson can have a great game, Burrow can be off his game a little bit, & lose the NCG just like Bama did last year. Bama was dominating Clemson in rushing & TOP for almost 3 quarters, but Tua had 2 critical interceptions & Lawrence & his receivers made awesome pass completions.
We want NC's not, runner-up, especially since LSU has the team to do it. Finish Tigers!!

Really? LSU is favored by over 5 points. Every body is picking Burrow over Lawrence. LSU has all of the voted-on awards.

The line was -6. It's not like Alabama was favored by 3 touchdowns. Anyone who thought Alabama was going to blow Clemson out last year was not paying attention. Clemson may play in a weak conference, but they aren't weak.
Exactly, but Clemson did blow out Bama. Whether Clemson blows out LSU or not, a loss is still a loss, and a magical season is down the drain.
quote:
However, the strength of Clemson last year was it's defensive line. Dobbins was gashing them for nearly 10 yards/carry in the Fiesta. Now, Clyde isn't as good as Dobbins, but he's a dangerous runner. Couple that with the Heisman Trophy winner, and Clemson has to stop a two-headed monster.
My concern is that LSU has to settle for FG's or turnover by downs in the red zone while Clemson scores TD's.

I'm not counting Clemson out, but this isn't 2018 Alabama, nor is it 2018 Clemson. They have flaws unlike the 2018 team. They got lucky that Ohio State fell on their face.
I agree, OSU lost that playoff game, but LSU could do the same. It does not matter what has happened in the other games. The NCG is ONE game & LSU needs to be ready for whatever Clemson throws at them!! I think that the advantage LSU has is that Clemson is the defending NC & LSU has defending NOTHING!!

he was aggressive all game. go back and rewatch or just read my writeup on it. he(venables) got torched plenty running and passing against his blitzes. burrow is light years better than fields and will not miss all those reads and throws. nor will we have those drops and roughing the kicker calls.
True, but what did he do against Bama last year?
