2015 Ohio State was the best team in the country. That Michigan State hurricane game still haunts me

List is total shite if it doesn't include Spurrier's 2011 and 2012 teams at SC.
indeed - I'll add the 2013 Gamecocks that average 34 ppg and had a healthy Mike Davis take over for Lattimore - and won at #5 Missouri and won by 14 at #6 Clem U - who went on to beat a 1-loss #7 Urban Meyers in the Orange Bowl

2016 USC

Lost 52-6 to Alabama in week 1 with a freshman Jalen Hurts coming off the bench. There isn’t an alternate universe where they could’ve won a playoff that year unless Alabama and Clemson didn’t exist

USC/Auburn had one mutual opponent, Va. Tech. USC was only leading Tech 14-13 when the 4th quarter started. Final was 24-13. Auburn was up 16-0 when the 4th quarter started. Final was 16-13.

How is this not in favor of USCw?

2004 Auburn and 2014 TCU off the list for 2007 Missouri/West Virginia and 2008 Texas.

I recall that on the biggest stage, the SECCC, that 2013 Mizzou team gave up 303 yards rushing. To one guy.

So, nah

Yes sir 100%, AU losing at home to USC in 03 was a major factor, IMO, & the loss to them in 02 played a factor as well I believe.

Media wanted to see OU/USC bc of the hype around them both & them starting our at 1 & 2. This I don’t think but I know & remember.

OU QB Jason White, the reigning heisman winner with current Heisman winner Matt Leinhart. USC coming off a partial NC. Amazing true freshman RB Adrian Peterson at OU. I could go on & on.

OU/USC was the media matchup, the “pretty” game with big names.

Wasn’t trying to prove AU had an advantage, just the one similar opponent they had was very similar & close; therefore AU/USC would’ve been close.

Like I said in the OP, flame away lol just having fun with this scenario

Spurrier's 2011

No, they would not have beaten Alabama or LSU.

I would like to think that 2011 LSU would have had a better chance at winning a title if Alabama would have had to play an extra game or two before meeting up with LSU...

2008 USC should be on the list. They rolled into Charlottesville my senior year at UVA. I went to game expecting a blowout and got even more than that. That SC defense as absolutely dominant at every level.

I think in 2006 we would have been a dark horse. Heck we beat Florida in the regular season already.
next to 1988, that season was the real disappointment for me

got clowned at home by Arky, but still had an outside shot at an NC until an absolutely lousy UGa team came in and pantsed us

still probably would have made a 12 team field, kinda like UTee this year

got clowned at home by Arky,

Houston Nutt just called another run for McFadden...

It felt like he carried the ball 47 times for about 250 yards. I just went to look and he wasn't far off from my crazy numbers: 28 carries for 145 yards. Felix Jones went over 100 yds. Mitch Mustain only attempted 10 passes and completed only 7 of them. Brandon Cox was sacked 5 times

Just a complete arse whipping of the #2 team in the country on the road. Seems like Tubs teams had at least one of these types of games in the 11 am slot where it seemed like half the team was still drunk.
