Could it be the hold happened to the guy Patrick was throwing too? All eyes?

That’s one of the problems with the sport of football. We all love it but the rules are so hard to enforce. Like others have said that “hold” probably happens on every play

Within 5 yards of LOS it's incredibly common, yeah

I could see calling it if Mahomes didn't overthrow by a good 10 yards.

Nonsense call

you would clearly see he never touched him after the cut

Before or after a cut makes no difference. Yards down field does but you didn't know that.

the rule requires a touch or grab that caused him to change direction etc.

Wrong again. The rule says "impead", not change direction.

You were a bad ref.

I think he's an LSU fan fwiw

I've seen fans of every college team imaginable calling it an awful flag and starting to think about the "is it rigged?" conversation.

I just hate we were robbed out of what could have been a GOAT OT SB finish because State Farm boy got a home cooking call in State Farm Stadium

For those who didn't like the call on James Bradberry, here's the word from the man himself:

“It was a holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide."

Meh, Bengal fans thought they were screwed by the refs against KC too.

Still an L and a Chiefs W. Is what it is

Don't throw facts at them. They are right... Bradberry is wrong...

That call was nothing compared to the touchdown they stole from the Chiefs after Hurts laid that receiver out as a sacrifice.

He caught the ball and fumbled.

Worst call in the history of sports

Ha! It wasn't even the worst call in this game. The touchdown they robbed from KC by calling that catch and fumble an incomplete pass was 10 times worse

Whether a pass is catchable or not has no bearing on a defensive holding call. That would be a factor to consider with pass interference but not holding. And the hold is often what causes the pass to be overthrown.
