If schools want to do something like this then fine I have not problem with it. Do it in a safer way though. Allow the other team to exit the field then allow people to come on the field through a gate in an orderly fashion to celebrate with the team. That’s would be fine. There is a right and wrong way to do everything and to just allow fans to pour over the fence onto field though puts everyone in a compromised position.

The Hillsborough disaster was a fatal crowd crush at a football match at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, on 15 April 1989. It occurred during an FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in the two standing-only central pens within the Leppings Lane stand allocated to Liverpool supporters. Shortly before kick-off, police match commander David Duckenfield ordered exit gate C to be opened in an attempt to ease crowding, which led to an influx of supporters entering the pens.[1] This resulted in overcrowding of those pens and the fatal crush; with a total of 97 fatalities and 766 injuries, the disaster is the deadliest in British sporting history.

There was a crush incident at a Limp Bizkit concert back in the early 2000’s in Australia also if I remember right.

There was one at a Halloween event in Seoul South Korea a couple years ago as well. Something crazy like 150 people were killed

Wasn’t there a big12 game last year with a premature fan rush? Ksu/asu, I think.
There could have been a late flag tonight. Or an injury with a player who needed medical attention. Imagine having to clear that field.

I can’t remember all the details to it so you should go look it up. The lead singer for the heavy metal band Lamb of God was put on trial several years ago in some Eastern European country. A guy came up on stage and staged dived. The crowd didn’t catch him and long story short the guy died. The government tried to say the singer encouraged the crowd to do this and put him on trial and the singer eventually won the case but he spent some time in jail before he was eventually given any type of bail or anything. I watch a documentary about it and it’s been a good while back so I can’t remember all the details.

Yeah there are a thousand good reasons not to do it.?I get people want to have fun but you want to see everyone go home safely afterwards.

Yeah, suppose there had been defensive pass interference on that play. It would have been hell trying to clear the field.
OTOH, some of the most memorable events in my life were situations where I could have been killed, so I'm not going to judge too harshly. It was an epic rush.

Kentucky didn't even wait for the final play to finish.

Does Bama getting beat also count for this field storming bc it’s the reason FSU was ranked so high?

Looks like someone is getting trampled in that video. Several students telling others to stop
Apparently it was 2 FSU players and a UVA player trying to keep the crowd from trampling them. There is another video from that end zone and they’re were some people in it panicking on the field about people being on the ground and being trampled.

I have been going to a lot of high school football games the last couple of years and there is a student section at most games, for both teams, and it’s mostly boys the same age as the players. The school my daughter goes to has about 200 kids in that section at home games. They are organized and have theme nights where they all dress alike… they have a big time. Many of those boys in that group, based on appearance, are as athletic as most of the kids playing the game. They apparently prefer socializing and being a fan watching than actually playing….thats weird to me. I played HS football 4 years in high school so I only attended a few games at that age as a fan and it was always related to my playing. I can’t begin to imagine cheering and chanting for a 15 year old football player when I was 15….i feel the same way about college student sections…. I understand the socializing but idolizing someone your own age to the extent many of those kids seem to do is strange, to me.

Yes. FSU stormed the field this year when they beat Bama. The ACC only fines schools 50k.
The SEC fines 500k.

This field rushing is going to get people trampled to death if they don’t stop it. That was crazy last night.
Ole Gus bus ran out of magic after 3 games. Who did not see that coming.
