So Gus is running shite?
Here is what actually happened. After the LSU game, Gus thought there was a good chance that Auburn would not retain him. He reached out to Arky so he would have a fallback plan.
Gus then turned things around and used the wins over UGA and bama, also the Arky leverage, to get an extension and a raise. Most coaches get extensions and raises after a year like this.
More truth.........Arky just is not Gus' "dream job". If it was, he would be in Arky right now.

I know I'd hate to live there, it anywhere in far Eastern Arkansas. I turned down a lot of money to avoid moving to the Arky swamp. The NW is by far the nicest part of the state, for many reasons.

I think Gus was in a no-lose position. He gave his demands to Auburn knowing he had Arkansas in his back pocket. It may have been his dream job...but more money can alter dreams!!!

To be perfectly honest I do consider this season a positive a) got rid of Bert b) hopefully Gus lost his halo in the eyes of the remaining zombie Gusites that reside in this state 3) the clean slate and feeling of hope of hiring someone new
