Same here. Although the state takes a beating, it may be the only state I know of that just about everyone I'very known from there has been really cool. One of my closest UA friends is from Greenville and I worked with a really cool Miss State grad when I lived in Bham. Ironically, he was from Brookhaven.

P.S. I should mention that there were a couple of pretty wild and crazy Phi Mus from Columbus, MS at Bama when I was there.

I've only seen mugshots in Jackson and meridian. I didn't realize they were that expanded.

Over the hill.

I still have a few friends in McComb. I'd name drop but I want to leave you with a better impression of me than if I did.

Oh okay. I don't know many people other than family and a few the people that went to school with my wife. Some mechanics and church people too but that's about it.

87% of Florida is yankees or Cubans. unless you're in the panhandle which is almost as bad as Mississippi

We're glad you feel that way, so please keep the frick out of our state.

Mississippi is last on a lot of these lists due to the poverty stricken Delta region of the state. With your stabs at Mississippi due to various lists, you are basically pointing your finger directly at the Delta. The Delta has a high % of African Americans. Cas4t, you are racist.

I like Mississippi.

If you put the good things on a pedestal instead of the bad, you would see that.

Mississippi Gulf Coast
Beaches
Women
Casinos, Hotels
Hattiesburg (Friends live there)
Carriere (Relatives live there)
Oxford
Jackson
Starkville (I did have a slight earache when I left last time though :)
Barbeque, Fried chicken, Lemon Icebox Pie
Authors
Beauty queens
Morgan Freeman
One of my best friends lives in North Jackson and is a Reb alumnus (and huge Saints fan).

Mississippi was actually the fifth richest state in the Union before the War Between the States.

my in-laws live in Hide-a-Way Lake in Picayune. They have a Carriere address. People from those towns are way more influenced by south LA than they are anything in MS. Interesting breed of people. You have NASA scientists rubbing shoulder to shoulder with people who only come out of Honey Island Swamp on Saturdays to go to Wal-Mart.
