Lou Gehrig Home Run
Lou Gehrig reportedly hit a towering 550-foot home run over "Billy Goat Hill" and the 40-foot high fence in center field during a 1930 exhibition game against the University of Texas at Clark Field.
This game is remembered for the unique feature of Clark Field, which had a limestone cliff in the outfield that made playing the outfield adventurous.

The hail was insane.

How's the softball field? It's supposed to host state high school championship games starting today.

That is one big arse storm. I’m in Cypress. We got hit by a “derecho” last year- almost identical winds and all types of tumult. Wonder why this storm didn’t get some name.

I imagine the Texas Rangers took them from another job at gun point.

Move the game to another venue? No fricking way.

When I was there ‘74-79, there was a Physics Building and RLM.

The post I saw just said Physics. It was probably RLM. Didn’t they change the name back?

It they replaced Taylor Hall with the Gates-Dell Computer Center, I doubt the old building is still there.

Evidently you have never played baseball on a turf field. 95% of baseball players love turf because of the consistency of the conditions. Truer bounces. Consistency on conditions, rain or shine. Home team gets the benefit as well as they are use to the speed of the ball coming off the turf.
The negative: Temps are considerably hotter.
For football it sucks no doubt and should never be used.

It would be one thing if you had grass turf with real dirt.

Having plastic instead of dirt around the bases is dangerous and cheap as frick, especially for a program that incessantly brags about how much money they have

Dick-Fawk Field is an epic piece of shite.
