No, but it definitely contributed to 49-0.

Watch what he did early in the Bama game. He did that several times in his career, he's far from fragile. His only injuries have been minor and ankle related, and a broken hand that led to some uncharacteristic drops his second year.

Meh, I would put Alexander Wright from Auburn against him any day.

yeah it was only a 4.13

gumps embarrassing themselves with articles THEY bring to the table

from your link:
quote:

Jackson recalls that it was an electronically-timed 4.13 during what would or could be considered a regional combine or expanded pro day that Auburn hosted. According to Jackson, numerous prospects from several colleges attended. He said that it took place in the indoor bubble at Auburn, there was electronic tape at the start that triggered the clock, and that there was a laser at the finish line of the 40-yard dash.

Until someone produces evidence to the contrary, we can say that Bo Jackson ran the fastest pre-draft 40-yard dash in recorded history with a time of 4.13 at a pro day/regional combine in February of 1986 at the University of Auburn, because ...

Rooting for the kid. He’s lightning fast and regularly ran away from coverage.

NFL is bigger, faster, stronger and finds a way to grind down players.

165 is really really light but honestly the biggest thumpers he will see are going to be safeties and they may be too slow to really pop him. I think his biggest concern will be those first five yards where the corners can affect his routes.

I'm sorry, 165 pounds might be okay in the college game, but I can't see that working in the NFL. Maybe if you were short too (say 165 at 5'8" or so). But he's nearly 6 feet tall and 165. That is not sturdy.

I don't think my thinking on that is all that different from NFL teams.

I think he'd have improved his draft status more if he were 180 and ran a 4.31 than being 165 running a 4.21.

According to the NFL's combine page, he weighed 175 at the combine.

Real Weight

They used his Alabama roster stats on the combine page. You'll read here that he weighed in at 166 and slightly over 6 foot. Not 175 and 6'1.

At his pro day he weighed in at 170. While I can't find his 40 time for the combine or pro day, the common number that pops up for him is 4.5. Much slower that 4.21.
