It’s especially shitty looking turf

Everything is bigger in Texas, including the patches of...dead turf? How does that even happen?

It’s the color of mediocrity, the 2010s, and the Big XII. Should have made our debut in the SEC in ‘24 with real grass. No excuses. You have every right to be disgusted.

Yes, It would have been nice to open with real grass. There are, however, real and logistical reasons that Texas went to Sport Turf within the football program (baseball always artificial same reasons) in 2009. Master Campus planning had a lot of building and renovations occurring with a severe space constraint. This whole thing with real grass is driven by the need for space which is hard to acquire since the University is inside a major metropolis. When you say "No excuses" you speak as the aggy would.

BTW, Every time Texas needs to buy up some neighborhood east of campus (other 3 directions are limited) pricing goes through the roof and a whole state acquisition process is required.

Not to mention building east is further limited by Oakwood Cemetery. And the 1950’s route planning of I-35 had no vision at all.

Is detailed city planning necessary to put down grass on a football field?

You might be surprised.

The Austin city council is like the world’s shittiest HOA.
