Watched the game, and my wife ask how are they doing, and I replied “Texas is about to get its arse beat” then she says but they are winning and I responded but it’s trending the wrong way. You could smell that one coming

False. It only took five. Texas led the charge, you are correct about the other hypocrites who joined. A&M need only look in the mirror when their fans bitch about who ruined the Big 12. Mizzou was the largest school by revenue to vote against it.

Which happened after the conference voted against putting resources toward a conference network in 2006-2007. Texas was the one school that wanted to do so.

Because Texas blocked it.

Also voted on by your Big 8 buddies Colorado, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.

The majority of the Big Eight schools voted to keep it in KC. It was the SWC schools plus the dumbass Oklahoma schools who ruined it for us. But OU has always followed Texas’ lead like a big, dumb puppy.

I actually agree. I'm not under the belief that Texas has no culpability, but I will definitely push back against the "Texas killed the Big 12" narrative when the person saying it is an A&M or Nebraska fan. But even Mizzou, who voted more nobly than the rest, still hopped on the first train out of town alongside a school who'd done just as much as Texas to kill the Big 12.

I can't find much information about this specifically. Some bloggers say Texas blocked it alongside the usual group of "haves." Others say Texas approached the conference about a network but the other schools rebuffed us. So I don't know. But I don't think it's fair to say "Texas blocked it" as though it was 11 schools wanting a network vs. Texas not wanting one. If so, it would've been done put to a vote and accepted.

Plus Colorado. So there was some misalignment within the Big 8 to begin with. Missouri's chancellor at the time said something along the lines of "Even if we accept the Texas schools, it doesn't mean Missouri is in it for the long haul."

Texas Tech and Baylor were forced in as tagalongs by Texas politicians Bob Bullock and Ann Richards, with the threat of withholding state funding from Texas and A&M if they weren't included in whatever happened post-SWC. This prevented both schools from heading to the SEC at the time.

The Big 12 was built upon a broken foundation, and the voting habits of many of its members -- Texas being one, yes -- doomed it to fall from what was a great group of schools.

True Story.

I never understood this, Sooners are the better sports school hands down but did what austin told them to. Real head shaker.

If you want to drive game into a killing field you beat the bushes behind them.

The B1G had the most culpability, yet they never get blamed. Nebraska had tried to join the B1G several times in the previous 100+ years but was always rejected. Ohio State got the invite Nebraska was seeking at the time.

The PAC is next in line as their nose up the backside of the B1G has been in place since at least the end of WWII. When Colorado jumped with Nebraska the timing was too perfect to be coincidence

If not for these two conferences, the B12 is probably #2 behind the SEC today.

Where austin is most culpable is moving from KC to DAL. If you are the minority you let the majority keep the HQ (especially as the NCAA was also HQ'd there). While it may not seeme3d like much it was the bad blood that allowed the disharmony to fester. B12 moving to Dallas probably was instrumental in the NCAA moving to Indianapolis (B1G territory) and that allowed the B1G the best access to influencing policy. If the B12 stays in KC with the NCAA, they would have the catbird seat.

Study your history Sparky.

Sooners were in the SWC and went to the MVC then on to the Big 6

The Big 6 became the Big 8 and during this time Sooners had the catbird seat. They took in the minority (4 teams from the SWC) to form the Big 12 but and have historically been the better CFB school and overall sports school.

Oklahoma > Utx

Are you with me so far?

Now if you study policy and events, they have not been the lead dog on the sled when it comes to decision making, they have let austin do that instead.

The reality of your situation has set in and not the Poe in the sky we will own the SEC the lot of you OU/UT fans peacocking around here this past year.

Enjoy your Sunday. Just here to also remind you as bad as Auburn is, we are 3-1. We are so bad that we had to rely on a dipshit RB dropping the ball before the end zone to win the game.

Let that sink in as you chew on this reality pill of your team’s situation.

Sark is an OC not a head coach.

Move your DC coordinator up to head coach where he thrived at and you would be a lot better imo.
