Ole Miss seems to be pretty hands off compared to other schools listed though.

I have never understood this idea that in year 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc a coach has to ascend each and every year and hold that top spot with 0 margin for regression anywhere in the program otherwise its time to move on IF (and this is a big IF) the coach has seen success within the program.

Texas made back to back playoffs, wont he Big 12 and lost in the SEC title game last year.

Texas plays a top 15 SoS and could end the season 10 - 3 (or as low as 7-6).

Even if they go 7-6 why burn it all down, especially when you were back to back semis?

This is a new era of college athletics I dont think fans get. You can re-tool a roster immediately. If Sark is willing to make a few tweeks Texas could be right back in the playoffs next year, maybe or maybe not but why would you burn it down because "its year 5"

If thats the case and "year 5" means Natty or bust every team but 2-3 would need to fire their coaches

Sark aint winning a NC. If he does, it's because he finally got an OC and relinquish those duties so he can focus on the greater picture.

There's only been 1 HC (Jimbo) that won a NC as a playcaller in the last 25 years and 4 total in the last 40-50 years? I forget. There's probably a reason for that.

yeah I said as much. We both know he's not hiring an OC. Even if he did, he'd so obsess over that side of the ball every game that the defense and the little details in which he fails so miserably, would still suffer.

Meh I'm over it. If they want this fraud back after this season they get what they deserve.

I came into this season knowing we had no chance to win it all. Nothing happened I didn't predict. I didn't think we'd be this dysfunctional but I said we'd lose to osu, florida, georgia, and a&m. We'll find out in a few weeks if I was right about all 4.
Next year will the same. Thankfully we get to avoid the annual georgia beatdown.

You are right, however, that a dept can't function when you're constantly making bad hiring decisions, with ridiculous contracts, and repeating every 4 years. We suck at finding football coaches.
