That’s exactly what Arkansas is capable of. Ought to be a good one

Texas can "out-Athlete" most of the teams we play. Over the last 11 years, we usually haven't, because of poor coaching and preparation.

The thing I like the most from the 20 point defeat of Louisiana was that Texas has a new coach, new schemes and a freshman QB......and Texas had no false start penalties, no delay of game penalties and no turnovers. The Horns are a problem for anyone, as long as we aren't shooting ourselves in the foot.

Too long.
Didn’t read.
Downvoted anyway.

Texas 10-15 on third down. Didn’t watch game. Stats show lots of 5+ yard conversions. Was play calling that good or Louisiana D that bad? Trying to handicap this game bc that line is suspicious.

Play calling was that good.. plus Card has a big time arm and made some big time throws. He also missed on some early.. Card showed a lot of potential.. and lots of room to grow.

But yes, play calling was very good. We didn’t show a lot imo, but when we needed a play, Sark dialed up some good ones.

My overall impression of Louisiana was that they were a lot better than I thought they would be.. Napier is a really good coach. I think Herman would have lost that game yesterday.

LA loaded the box and had a really good defense, especially on the DL.

Texas has OL issues that need to get fixed. It was by far the biggest negative of the night. Hopefully the LA DL was just really good..

Texas Drive Chart

1 - Punt
2 - TD (Texas 7-3)
3 - Missed Field Goal
4 - TD (Texas 14-3)
5 - TD (Texas 21-6)
6 - TD (Texas 28-12)

Thompson QB
7 - TD (Texas 35-12)
8 - FG (Texas 38-18)
9 - Punt

The first series wasn’t good. The last series was just trying to run the clock. We moved the ball really well in between.

Arkansas looked like shite yesterday. I'm not confident they'll get it done. I don't think Texas will be a world beater, but I know Sark will have them more prepared than Rice.

Sark tried to get a little too cute on 1st down a few times instead of just giving the ball to Bijan. Also had several holding penalties that backed us up and Card made several nice throws into tight windows. Managed the game which is hard for a Freshman.

Louisiana is well coached, talent disparity was obvious. Only way Louisiana had a chance yesterday was had Herman survived another year.

Bijan is a certified freak, I do have to admit. He may make it to NY this year if they commit to giving him the carries.

UL couldn’t convert 3rd down and get off the field, and wore down in the heat. I would expect Hogs will do better in that aspect. I look for a close game with a 7 pt Texas win

J.k Jefferson played tensed and throwed his passes to hard. A lot of pressure was on Sam and Arkansas in that game as if a loss happened, it would have destroyed the momentum that Sam had. His seat would get warm and his stay would be shorter.

But that didn't happen as Arkansas started to lay it on Rice in the fourth quarter. Despite the penalties, terrible targeting calls, dropped passes, blocked punt and a dumb interception. It would have been over at the half if Jefferson had more touch on his passes.

He will get 20+ touches a game if he can stay healthy. Yes, he is a freak. Guy is really, really good.

I expect a lot more designed QB runs. I feel like Briles used this game to try and get KJ more gametime experience passing the ball rather than really relying on his strengths.

Rewatching now and he showed nothing yesterday. He got cute trying to use an actual game to work on all the things KJ sucks at. Not to mention we got a bill 50 in penalties and for 7/8ths of the game we were down 3 defensive starters.

Don't bother telling the cow frickers that though. They are puffing their chest out about beating a sunbelt team.

Well if you were down 10 to Rice at halftime because your QB continued sucking at throwing the football, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that is pretty bad.

Our 250 lb qb is averaging 10 yards a carry. Briles was hesitant to run him vs rice. That won’t be the case next week. We’ll be fine.

Texas by 10-14. Ark isn't playing Rice this week.

The line for this game is accurate as both teams aren't very good and they are breaking in new QBs.

If Louisiana’s cat quick QB (a combination of Michael Vick & Kyler Murray according to Brando & Tillman) couldn’t get lose, I wouldn’t expect a lot from a 250 pounder.

This is as perfect scenario as Texas can have, an SEC road game against a team that was tied with rice at halftime. They had us losing to a good UL team and we had almost a 30 point lead at one point. I hope Sark makes a statement on national TV here.
