They all played grew up in Nola and played for Isidore Newman, wtf are you talking about? And the 3rd one is Arch, not Archie

Just because they are from NEW ORLEANS, doesn't mean that have ties to LSU. Eli and Cooper went to Ole Miss like their father, Payton and Arch went to where they wanted to go.
They could have just as easily went to Tulane.

I enjoy the animosity. This board would be dead if everyone got along.

Basketball Final 4s LSU 4 Texas Not sure
Technically three, but realistically one. Two of them occurred in 1943 and 1947 when there were only 4 teams invited.
2003 is the only Final Four since the tournament became a thing.

As an unbiased Bama fan
There's nothing unbiased about any SEC fan when it comes to the new interlopers.
Texas has not been all that successful in football from 2010 to 2022. We went through a string of coaching hires that was similar to Alabama's string of Perkins/Curry/DuBose/Franchione/Shula, with a little Stallings thrown in there.
But we're fine now.
LSU can't carry UT's jock as an institution. It's a poor state with limited resources that loves to drown their existence in food and alcohol. Everytime there's a big natural disaster we get their coonasses crossing the border in droves because there's no opportunities in that state. Trump and the Texas governor keep talking about a border wall at the Rio Grande, when what we really need is a border wall at the Sabine.
There's nothing about LSU I look up to. I have no desire to have a rivalry with them. Let them search for someone else.

The only aggy here is you. You keep acting like a LSU fan maybe even you'll believe it one day?

Texas/LSU Rivalry
I live in Austin and there is no rivalry. We don't play them in football (2019 aside) and until we do it's a nothingburger. We're not out here chirping at one another over Men's Basketball or Tennis.

Not a chance. It's not worth it to associate with LSU.
They will drag you down to the bowels of humanity and then beat you with experience.
Best to beat their arse and then get gone.

For what it is worth, LSU could give two shits about UT.

Yeah, I know a ton of LSU fans, and none of them have much emotion invested in Texas. Like most (all?) SEC fans they get tired of UT's arrogance, they'd like to see them get some kind of comeuppance and they're not thrilled with their success, but it's not like Alabama. There's real hate there.

I’d love an lsu rivalry but it won’t happen, Texas already has 3 rivalries and if we keep in the upper quad of the sec I could see the league Making a rivalry with UGA or bama.
LSU and TAMU are keeping everyone around here busy enough. There will never be any "historic" rivals beyond what we have. The new age playoff platform takes care of that.
We will have SEC rivalries based solely on being the big dog in the conference. As such, those rivalries will come and go. Quickly.

This is remarkably fair. Maybe one day I will learn to hate them like Alabama, Ohio State, ND, and USC, but today isn't that day.

People here like to talk shite about Austin, but Baton Rouge is a quarter the size and has more murders. So, it's a dangerous, crime ridden, shithole. LSU as a school is also a complete joke. A party school that pumps out drunks and murderers. They also say Texas fans are arrogant but have the most arrogant fans, by far, on this message board. But Bourbon Street is pretty cool I guess, if you're under 25 and like the smell of hot piss.
Nah, we don't need a rivalry with them.

That’s quite a bit of projection for someone who doesn’t give LSU a second thought.

I'm not saying I don't give LSU a second thought. I'm saying my first thought tends towards condescension.

Not so fast.

When we've had problems, those various Cajun Navy boys have been here bright and early to help out. Including Ike, Harvey and many others, and most recently in Kerrville during the Guadalupe disaster here in Central Texas (I live in the Hill Country near Pipe Creek.) I respect that we are generally good neighbors to each other. Houston opened their doors hugely in Katrina, and lots of metro/poor NOLA never left afterwards.
Don't like real spicy stuff or seafood, so most of their cuisine is lost on me. But Cafe Au Lait and beignets at Cafe Du Monde is still a must for me each time I roll through NOLA. And a lot of those French heritage coon-arse woman are something to behold. Not Texas women mind you, but not too far behind. They can manage to be both demure and spicy.
So I respect me a bit about those crazy Cajuns. And minus all the worst of their posters/trollers and alts on here, I respect LSU athletics...

so we cherry pick the best ones.
It's actually the exact opposite. LSU has cherry picked the best recruits out of Texas compared to Texas going into Louisiana. Hell, I bet there are some recent years that LSU has more Top 100 recruits from Texas than Texas itself has.
