Even in the linked article, it says projections with UT and OU joining the SEC could be 60 million plus.

The deal that the SEC inked in December was already bump payouts to $60 million per school.

The Gov is up for re election in Nov 2022

Already too late. By then there won't be a Big 12 left.

The Big 12 requires an 18 month notice, which is what's happening now.

Assuming it doesn't fall apart, which at this point looks pretty likely

Big 12 just offered more money, Dennis Dodd tweeted like 40 mins ago, don’t know how to post it tho

No matter what the Big 12 offers, it won't be as much as those schools will make in the SEC.

Texas Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife received prior approval from Gov. Abbot prior to reaching out to the SEC per Chip Brown.

Just tell Texas not to worry about it because any invitation they might have been have been anticipating is now in the trash can. Get OU on board and let’s roll.

Just something about that part of the country, a conference based in Big 12 has never worked.

Do you really think it's geography that wrecked those conferences or a single cancerous institution??

The Gov is up for re election in Nov 2022. Lots of Texas Republ icans want him primaried. I vote in the Republican primary and am NOT voting for him already. The state has lots and lots of Tech, Baylor, TCU alum. Those alum are in panic mode right now. If they stay home or vote for the donkey due to the loss of the B12, he's toast. Abbott is in a very precarious situation.

He's fricked no matter what he does. Allen West is probably throwing a party right about now.
