Both A&M and Texas lost to a top 10 ranked team at home. Texas lost worse to a lower ranked team (though in my opinion UGA is better... they're ranked lower)
The difference in the schedule isn't the top team. It's that SC (7-3)/Mizzou(7-3)/LSU(6-4) (A&M's next 3 toughest games) are better than Vandy(6-4)/Michigan(5-5)/Florida(5-5) (Texas' next 3 toughest games).
