I 100% agree the NCAA has its hands tied and is a paper tiger now.

Every school should pay whatever they want and ask for forgiveness if they ever have to.

Apparently he’s telling it to several players in the portal

meh...doesn't matter. I suspect Sark is going to take one of these nfl jobs and Muschamp was brought in because of it. Once the portal closes it may happen.
I don't know if they'd hand if off to muschamp (big mistake) or not but it should get interesting.

or I could be completely wrong. I just know that if Sark made it clear he wanted to move to the NFL they would have him wait until after the portal window.

I want sark out....but if Muschamp is the pick to replace him we might as well stick with Sark.

Good for OU, kid seems good and will keep developing, you decided to pay what UT wouldn't. I hope Texas doesn't miss-judge our portal haul and lose out on retaining top talent just because we think we have something better.

Yes, and he knows we are brining in outside WR, same reason Moore left.

I worry that Texas is playing with fire here but I hope they have done deals signed and ready and just haven't announced yet.

Chip Brown is worthless.

But he is the defacto Bellmont media mouthpiece…

So don’t have him trumpet things that would only make the AD look weak.

Texas spent the most money retaining a roster they recruited. They didn’t money whip some ultra productive transfer. The evaluations were pretty hit or miss. We’re attempting to fill holes in the portal, pitching to the elite guys, but Texas will never be a market altering portal team. Texas goes harder in the HS ranks in terms of capital investment.

Y’all didn’t tamper with Baugh? Isn’t he the reason y'all hired Jaluke?

Try to score a TD in your own backyard in the biggest game you’ve played since 1939

Well we can't all have super serious indisputably credible professional sources like "sliced bread".

This is irrelevant. All the House settlement deal did is allow colleges to directly pay athletes via revenue sharing. NIL via third parties still has no cap.

quote:

The settlement allows power conference schools and other Division I universities that opt in to directly share revenue with college athletes beginning July 1. The revenue-sharing cap is expected to be roughly $20.5 million in year one (2025-26) and increase on an annual basis. The number is calculated as 22 percent of Power 5 schools’ average athletic revenue.

quote:

College athletes are still permitted to sign “over-the-cap” NIL deals with third-party organizations that will not count toward a school’s revenue-sharing pool.

The only difference now for third party deals is they have to be approved by a clearinghouse to ensure fair market value. But again not sure what Texas fans are complaining about.
