The entire year a large contingent on this board claimed over and over, Texas would lose at least three SEC regular season games against this schedule because unlike other conferences there is NFL talent everywhere. Then as the season progressed, claimed that Texas was gifted a soft schedule. The schedule wasn’t soft, the SEC teams in it turned out to be.
Yep.
Bama and Georgia are usually dominant. Every now and then a 3rd SEC team is tough af.
But the rest of SEC is mostly average to crap.
Texas has a strong team and is SEC's #1 currently.
Get used to it fatboy!
This is the point that Texas fans pretend to miss OR Texas fans are too fricking stupid to understand. In just about every year the SEC has 2 teams who are competing for a natty....and over the last 2 decades one of them has most often won said natty. There are years when there is a third team and years when there is a 4th. Texas and Oklahoma neither one has EVER played in conference where there was more than 2 very good teams and they were always one of the 2. Since UT has won a natty 5 SEC teams have won a natty and 4 of the 5 have won multiple natty's. 13 of the last 19 nattys have been won by a SEC team and at least 2 of those saw no chance of anyone not in the SEC winning because the SEC had both spots in the game. It simply is harder to win a SEC title than it is to win a natty because there is always 2 natty contenders and often 3-5 who could beat anyone in the nation at any time.
I will never understand why people like to tear things down to make themselves look better. It is universally recognized that what Success Texas has had in CFB, limited as it is, was due to their having 1-2 games a year against similarly talented teams and 8-11 games against what have been rent a wins for other talented programs over the years. Texas has moved onto the big boy conference and is doing very well in that conference....yet Texas fans are hell bent on making that conference out to conists of teams who have been paid to lose to others in the past like the Big12 amd SWC. Never mind that 4 there are more teams from the SEC east to have won National Titles since OU and Texas has than has ever belonged to the Big12 or SWC....the SEC east was tougher than the Big12 or SWC ever was....add in the SEC West and its not even close. Texas is on the brink of winning the SEC and Texas fans are all over the fact that winning the SEC is a cake walk...its idiocy

So it's either true the SEC is tougher top to bottom vs other conferences or it isn't. Yes, it truly is that simple.
I know you think we should have some true gauntlet of a schedule that includes Bama, Tenner and Ole Miss in addition to Georgia ANNND our 3 rival games as some sort of "Welcum to the SEC you baby bottom soft little 12 varmints durr hurr, yuk yuk" hazing ritual, but thankfully the SEC office isn't full of retarded message board posters. Oh, and they posted the criteria used to make all the schedules not long after they were released.
While we should be flattered that everyone thinks we should have a schedule equal to UGA or at least Bama, last year was our first truly good season since 2018.

You have played no one and the one team you did play was at home which you lost to. I will give you credit for scheduling Michigan at Michigan even though they are pretty terrible this year

Many Texas fans are indeed saying their going through the Conference with one loss means the conference is not good.
More than one thing can be true simultaneously. The SEC is tougher top to bottom than any other. This is true. There are varying degrees of difficulty in SEC conference schedules every season. This is true. Texas, based on not being very good the last 20 years, has a VERY easy, by SEC standard, inaugural conference schedule. This is also true.
I don't think Texas should have any kind of schedule....I could not care less....what I know for a certainty is Texas has NEVER been in a conference as competitive as the SEC. Texas has not played a schedule as tough as the average schedule in the SEC is year in and year out. Texas has a relatively easy SEC schedule this year but compared to their Big12 schedule last year it is far harder. These are all facts, not feelings on mine or anyone's part. Texas is in a far better conference top to bottom now than they have ever been in AND thus far Texas has navigated that very well and may continue to do so....why it has to be that the conference sucks and Texas ain't actually better than they have been in 2 decades is beyond me but it apppears to be what many Texas fans want the narrative to be...

The SEC is the best conference with the best teams top to bottom. Look at the Gators. When a Vandy beats a Bama or a near dead Barn beats aggy, it proves it.

“Haha Georgia beat you in the regular season” is the last straw SEC fans will grasp as they watch us win their conference in Year #1.

It's all of the SEC fans that are telling us that. Literally, posts are made every week about how easy you all say our schedule is.

SEC rocks. A lot of it is simply return fire. What do you expect when 75% of the threads on page 1 is yet another bitchfest about our schedule?
I love the SEC and seeing so many great teams get knocked out by average to bad teams just shows how good it is.

It hasn't been quite two decades, the downward slide began in 2010 after the loss to Bama in the NCG.
As for the narrative, it is what it is. We took care of our schedule outside the Georgia game where our QB wasn't fully healed from his injury and had a bad case of brain freeze...helped in no small part by Georgia's ferocious pass rush that night. The narrative everyone here seems to want to paint is we don't deserve to be in the playoffs unless we win out including the SECCG...because anything less would still leave doubts.

Well, it is a bad year for the SEC, no objective person could say otherwise
And they do have the best team that they’ve had in the last 15 years

Well let's see... we played a couple of the same teams as you.
Vandy - Win (bama loss)
OU - Win (bama loss)
Weird.

It's pretty clear they all lack the ability to read comments like this. If they want to pretend this stuff never happened it's ok.
The real problem is the new guy coming in and having a chance to win it in year one after being told we would struggle for 2 years. It's hard for them to stomach and I can understand that. We still have 2 good teams in front of us. If we win them we deserve the sec title. If we don't we never did. Silly to fight about it.
We sucked against georgia but we also did something no other team did not named georgia. We beat all the unranked opponents on our schedule. No one else did that except for Georgia and they are in the SEC title game because of it. They are the class of the conference until we or the ags knock them off.
