Would you want to be in the SEC? Personally I'd love it.

Texas/Arkansas
Texas/LSU
Texas/A&M

Every year this would be amazing. Hell even Texas/Ole Miss and of course Bama/Auburn. Then again if we ever go to 16 teams I'm sure we'd also go to 9 games in conference and I think if Texas was added without any changes to the West it'd be too stacked.

It think it would be awesome if they joined the SEC. We should totally invite them. What could go wrong? They're really great to work with, you know. Universally beloved by virtually all programs that have had the honor of partnering with them!

Not really. It would be fun but it could potentially have a negative impact on recruiting. So, some pros/cons. However, if it were to ever happen, it's a long time from now.

If they joined on equal terms as everyone else, I think I could support it. They're solid in most all sports. At the very least a trip to Austin every now and then would be fun.

They can replace you guys or USCjr. 2 historically irrelevant laughing stocks of the conference.

The SEC already has the entire state of Texas covered with the Aggies on board. We sure as HELL do not need the Longhorns onboard who would bring absolutely nothing to the SEC. IN fact, their addition would actually reduce what each SEC school gets from the conference annually.

You're only looking at what we bring to the table in terms of football, so you're a moron. Arkansas and South Carolina both bring a lot to this conference.

For some reason, some people (particularly the Longhorns in 2011) do not seem to understand the purpose of conference alignment.

I would love it, but it's not likely to ever happen.

Texas would void the LHN network for the B1G if that ever came to fruition.

You’re good at baseball and women’s basketball historically, and at getting your asses kicked at football. Well, y’all did beat UGA so that’s a plus but for the most part your entire athletic program is a joke. Arkansas this past season was the worst SEC team I’ve ever seen.

Austin isn't what it used to be. Still lots of great breweries and such in the area, but downtown kind of sucks now.

Arkansas brings the #57, #101, and #180 TV markets to the table (Little Rock, Fort Smith, Jonesboro) with arguably a market share in #5 (DFW) and possible #72 (Springfield, MO), but both of those markets are now double covered by Missouri and Aggy.

South Carolina covers Columbia (#74), Charleston (#94), and Myrtle Beach (#95).

Honestly, if the SEC would have held off on expanding to Arkansas and SC, they may not have added those teams, given that TV markets drive re-alignment. Nonetheless, I am glad Arky and SC are in the conference.

It's still a pretty part of the state. Lots of great trails and stuff in the surrounding areas. Lots of breweries to visit in the suburbs. But I wouldn't just go downtown and wander like I used to. Too many homeless. Too much crime. Governor actually just ordered TX state troopers to start patrolling the downtown area in addition to Austin PD to try to increase presence and get a hold on things.

The death of SRV was the beginning of the end for the Austin live music scene.
