They have every right to brag but that guy sounds like a drunk version of my soft spoken, always nice, middle school science teacher who just got enough liquid (and football win-based) courage to puff his chest out for the first time.

Is Texas really "back"? I have no doubts that they'll always be in the mix - probably the top 2 or 3 in the Big 12. However, I don't think they'll consistently surpass Oklahoma as long as Lincoln Riley is there. In addition, I don't think they'll ever be good enough to consistently beat a couple of other Big 12 teams that they should (e.g., Oklahoma State, TCU).
That said, they do appear to be a 9+ win program and have improved substantially.

They’re going to lose a lot from this squad with the guys who are likely to go pro plus graduation. If they can reload and have a similar type of year or better next year then I’ll start to believe. They’ve recruited well the last few years.
