Or ...

Hear me out ...

People keep saying no, like they did the last time around (including Schloss).

Why any coach at an established program competing for championships would jump to Texas, which will start year 1 in the SEC in full rebuild mode, is beyond me.

Oh that's right. It's the irresistible appeal of such a historically revered program combined with the 10 year, $35 million deal they're offering. Silly me.

agreed, and he fits

but the reason I think it might be him is because he recently remarried and there is a lot of baggage with that.. and i’m guessing especially locally.. so he and his wife might welcome a change

Vitello is a wild card; Mingione strikes me as the kind of guy who may stay at Kentucky his entire career but obviously that's just my opinion.

If they do go with an inexperienced guy, Elander would be a good choice.

No one said it was a lousy job but most of your targets are at programs that also aren’t lousy jobs.

Welcome to the SEC.

That hadn’t even crossed my mind. Honestly very possible.

We should be pretty good at it after watching Aggies try and spin the Elko hire.

Except Aggies never claimed in unison that we were poaching a head coach from a legitimate title contender in football. Ironically (or not), there would actually be some recent historical precedent to justify such a belief - which is more than you can say for the football hires at Texas.

We tried hiring Deboer and Lanning. They said no. Ross tried hiring Stoops and was rightly rejected. Kyle Whittingham and Elko were the next two on the list who were willing to come. Elko rightly got the call.

In 2016, was the Texas job not as (or even more) irresistible in its appeal as a historically revered program?

An interim AD wouldn't get in the way of any coach aspiring to reach the mountain top.

Not knowing who your boss is going to be when walking into a high stakes job is very much a red flag.

I have no idea who y'all wire hire. I just think I know who you're trying to hire.

But it's the mountain top of college baseball. Getting that job is why you coach the game. Hence why all these CWS coaches are legit candidates and can't wait to get bounced and call CDC.

I’ve said it before.. only reason he would leave is if he is unhappy for some reason.. it won’t be about money or facilities or anything else.. we can both offer all that..

if CDC is targeting him, then he is unhappy, but I think it’s Sully.

eta: you are a clown.. i’m done responding to you.. i guess we will see

CDC is a drunk imbecile. Texas is not some peach of a job anymore. Your facilities and field, and the fans are mediocre at best these days. You still think you are king of the hill. It will take a full rebuild.

Even Schloss had to rebuild A&M, but he had a lot more talent and better support to start with.

Is this the part where y'all psycho analyze a clip of Schloss two years ago commenting about attendance and extrapolate his unhappiness from that?

I mean seriously. Y'all are totally deluded.

I personally like the “he and CDC are good friends” story. They really aren’t. Only way that Schloss leaves A&M is if an 80M renovation isn’t good enough for him. Maybe it isn’t.
