I would think Texas and Texas A&M will meet the final weekend. Does LSU pickup Oklahoma for the final weekend game now or goes back to Arkansas for the final game with Missouri and Oklahoma matching up?

Thoughts?

They get no final week. They can move the Red River Rump Roast to rivalry week.

I'd rather keep A&M for the last weekend also. Too fricking cold in Fayetteville that late in the season. Maybe when I was thirty-forty years younger. Now? Screw that cold weather

frick that shite. It's meaningless.

Aggies will play LSU on Rivalry Weekend. Period.

are you really trying to say that LSU would be a better rivalry than Texas? seriously? As bad as Texas has been Im surprised you wouldnt want to jump to the opportunity to beat us? Then again aggy logic never really makes much sense

With Texas and OU in the mix there will be more than enough rivalries to go around.

I suspect Thanksgiving ends up:

OU/Texas
LSU/aTm
Arkansas/Missouri

Nobody in Arkansas is excited about calling mizzou a rival, but as long as we get to kick some steer and cajun butt every year we really won't care.

I suspect OU/Arkansas develops a bit of spunk as well. We'll never hate them totally as we both hate Texas more.

There are so many moving parts, but the least disruptive thing to do on the final weekend, in my opinion, would be this:

A&M - LSU
Texas - Arkansas
OU - Missouri

OU-Texas will stay in early October. The connection with the State Fair rules out playing that game the final weekend. Moving that game would destroy about half the justification for taking those two brands.

OU/Texas will never not be at the State Fair. So unless the Texas State Fair is moving to Thanksgiving that will never happen.

I agree with this.

It doesn't frick up current rivalries and Arky gets a true rival on that weekend.

I agree, and why should the rest of us accommodate the fricking longhorns. They were so NON-accommodating 10 years ago that they can go ahead and frick right off.

They can play Arky on Rivalry weekend and the bedlam can still happen.

You'd have to get Kansas to agree to play Missouri if Bedlam is to occur on the final weekend. Maybe that can happen now, but the KU folks were not receptive to that when Missouri left for the SEC. Of course, with the sips no longer on the schedule, Kansas would need to pick up a soft opponent.

Correct, so this makes the most sense:

t.u. - Ark
OU - OSU
Aggy - LSU
Missouri - Kansas

you are in our world now son.... you don't get to make that statement. It'll be at the state fair ONLY if the SEC lets you keep it there

Texas/OU will stay at the State Fair.

Texas vs TAMU on Thanksgiving is several decades worth of tradition. TAMU vs LSU on Thanksgiving weekend is like 7 or 8 games old.

I'm fine playing whoever on Black Friday. But I would not be surprised to see Texas vs A&M back on Thanksgiving.

That's the issue, in bold. Thanksgiving is now lost to the NFL. I don't see A&M-Texas playing on Thanksgiving, and have zero interest in a Friday game (worst day of that weekend to play--if you have to travel, it still ruins your Thanksgiving). If you play that game on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, it's just another rivalry game in a very crowded schedule. If it is the draw that some folks think it is, it will draw more viewers on another weekend. I'd like to play it as our first conference game.
