Even the mighty Saban can't make the Longhorns do something they don't want to do.

How can you doubt that Saban could make the cowards in Austin not be afraid of Texas A&M?

I mean basically us hiring Jimbo was us pulling off what they couldn't with Saban. I don't see them wanting to go at Jimbo directly given that.

Frankly most of the Longhorns in my life have kinda given up now that the recruiting tide has shifted. The talk has gone from how smart Herman is to "A&M just cares too much about football" and "at least Texas still cares to be a good education and not just a football program" and that sort of thing.

They see the obvious truth- right now we care more than they do, and the people in charge of their program can't keep up with us without throwing away their pretenses about what their football program is.

Most realistic horns admit that they just don’t have the money to keep up with us now

Its less about the money and more about the fanbase. There is just too much apathy unless they are killing it, with no patience for rebuilding the program to get there.

I mean they do have a money problem when you consider how much it costs to build facilities in the middle of Austin, but they haven't figured that one out yet.
