Any game with high ranked teams is good. For several years, Bama/LSU was the best/most important regular season game of the year but I wouldn't put it in the category with those others. A great rivalry game should not be dependent on highly ranked teams.

“Have you been to the Red River Rivalry? (Texas vs. Oklahoma game),” Del Conte asked Finebaum. “It’s ridiculous. It’s the greatest thing ever.

In his defense, it probably is the best college game he's been around, and it is a great rivalry.

Did we really expect him to say "the RRR is pretty good, but nothing compared to the SEC rivalry games"?

Chris Del Conte has a ridiculous ego. He's a good fit for UT.

I expect a tx AD to act self-righteous. Death, taxes, and all that.

However, it’s a really bad look to be borderline drunk for an interview. Still smh.

It’s hard work puffing your chest out all the time. He wasn’t like that at TCU

I would have been just fine with never playing them again. They knocked bama off our schedule which sucks.

Give it a break. BAMA can't be everyone's rival. Besides, you still have LSU, who are obsessed with the Aggies. Maybe more than the shorthorns.

the butthurt over this comment makes the comment totally worth it.

To Texas fans, it's the best rivalry
to Bama and Auburn fans (and most of the sec) it's the iron bowl
etc, etc

What fricking difference does it make you goober? Do you really think some fans in cali or Michigan care whether or not t he iron bowl or the rrr is the best rivalry?

They are all great. It's silly for grown arse men to argue over the "best" rivalry. Outside of the two schools involved most don't give a shite. I care about texas-ok , tex-tex a&m, and tex-ark. I don't give a hot shite about any other rivalry.

the arrogance of this Texas guy to come in and spout how great the TX and OK game is. Just be quiet and be glad you are in the SEC. You aren't running things anymore.
the gall of a newcomer AD to promote his team on a television program that specifically had him on to promote his team.

I’m so sorry this happened to some of y'all. My deepest condolences

I'm loving it..it's fricking priceless. I wonder if they have to check under their beds at night to make sure a mean, scary longhorn isn't lurking underneath.

There is a big difference between being “ tame” and possibly homicidal. UGA and UF fans taunt and insult each other endlessly but I’ve never seen anyone pulling a knife or trying to kill or seriously harm a fan of the other school. And I haven’t missed a cocktail party since 1977. It’s mostly in good fun.
Once, years ago before they cracked down on alcohol inside the stadium, I did witness a ridiculous fistfight between a Dawg and a Gator. Both were falling down drunk and staggering around. People were actually laughing at them, watching them throwing punches at each other that didn’t come close to landing. After a ridiculous showing they finally stood up and left arm in arm, holding each other up. Probably going in search of the nearest bar.
Those egg and iron bowl games sound like dangerous events. Maybe there is a need for added security since these red necks lack the ability to control their emotions and their use of lethal weapons.
And from the sound of the hatred going on between UT and A&M there definitely is a need for a strong police presence at their games. These people actually hate each other

I don’t feel bad for the Aggies. Not at all. But it’s hard to know who is worse - them or Texas. Both are bad fits for the SEC and we can only hope that after realizing that they will never be able to win anything in this conference they will move on.

Not really. Everyone else in the SEC feels that way too.
