The howling for so many years about LSU allowing a player to return to the team after a bar fight.

Let's see if A&M stands by that moral integrity by booting a guy off the team for drugs, illegal gun possession and DWI.

Jimbo did coach under Les Miles so this adds up.

I don’t think he should be “booted off the team” but should be suspended multiple games. I think the NFL’s policy on something like this is a 3 game suspension. I could be wrong. Cowboys fans could probably answer that question.

I was all for kicking Demas off the team. No excuses.

Maybe I need more info. What I have seen so far is:

Handgun in car (legal in Texas)
One Joint (misdemeanor?)

Lsu fans really don’t see the difference between a violent physical assault and marijuana possession

Pfffft...Jimbo kicked his former 5* starting QB (Perriloux) and a Heisman finalist (Mathieu) off the team for less.

Maybe A&M police are just pissed off that they are now making less money than 18 year old football players?

BAC was 0.066 (under legal limit) but failed field sobriety tests. Most likely was high, but that’s drawing my own conclusions.

He had a joint (0.29 grams of marijuana?) I believe. Misdemeanor.

You can carry a loaded and chambered weapon in your vehicle in Texas. People that don’t know the law or don’t know anything about guns tend to try to make that sound scary. It becomes unlawful when you are driving under the influence, which the officer deemed he was. Hence the unlawful possession of a firearm charge.

Any one of those things aren’t bad on it’s own. Put them all together, and it’s pretty damn stupid. Regardless of your views on marijuana, the law is the law and you should know better.

What about driving while intoxicated at 2am? Is that not a serious crime that has ruined the lives and careers of several NFL players lately? Looking at you Henry Ruggs! I'd say that worse than a bar fight, which happens nightly on college campuses. Also why have a loaded gun in the car even if it isnt illegal in Texas? I highly doubt he has a concealed carry license. He was obviously not driving a bunch of drunk friends home. I am curious to see the blood alcohol level if he was drunk and not just high, but I would guess both.

.66 BAL isnt bad, but still. A high profile senior should know better. He's just a kid and hopefully this will be an eye opener for him and he will learn from it. I dont think his career should be taken away because of one mistake. Especially if its the first one of this kind
