Idiot, UT didn't even announce the start of planning until 2017.
By 2019 the Moody Foundation (UT alumn) donated $130M to the University which is more than double the value of your trash $60M arena and UT finalized the partnership with the Oak View Group to build the $350M venue at no cost to the University with OVG also handling the management in return for future revenue splits.
2022 the facility opened it's doors for business.
How's business going for the ZERO up front cost world class facility valued at SIX times your than trash hole doing? It's the world's most profitable 10k-15k seating facility generating more annual profits than Reed Arena will in its lifetime.
Good luck with you pawns ever having the resources, leadership and market to ever dream of getting anyone to take your phone call on a deal like that. shite, you fricks weren't even capable of riding our coattails on the deal with ESPN that turned into the LHN.
Pretty stark difference in the picture you painted Ol' Marge, but what would we expect from the broke arse "We Rich!" clowns in BCS.
Billboard revenue reporting

Spinning failure to raise funds
All your uneducated post does is confirm you do NOT contribute to UT

As I suspected this list you linked doesn't tell the entire story. People are talking here like LSU is losing money and they are not and haven't in a very long time. Who gives a damn if you are carry a debt as long as your are profitable and paying the bills and LSU is. What other schools do I do not care.

I understand that PUF funds do not go towards athletics, however if your “further education fund” is full, where do you think remaining finances are allocated? Most schools do not have the benefit of revenue like Texas & Texas A&M (& good for those Universities to have the insight for land ownership for their benefit).

Rumor has it that GT is still in debt for their n end zone addition and it’s something like 20 years old. They borrowed millions for that ugly artificial turf that turns brown when it rains. I’ve heard that they are so short of money that they are only able to pay the interest on their loans and that they are actually thinking about taking down those still unpaid for n stands (with the only half way decent concourses and bathrooms in the entire stadium - you should see some of those old bathrooms at GT. It’s like something from the medieval age - dirt walls kept in place with metal wire).
They want the still unpaid for north stands removed because all those empty seats look really bad on tv. The rest of the stadium looks empty too so that won’t solve the problem.

Well that's odd, if you were the largest Travis County LHF donor in that period of time I was at your funeral in 2015.

UT Austin runs on a $3.5B annual budget, the PUF funding is 10-15% of that and any excess revenue goes into investment mgmt by the same group that handles the PUF accounts. No bonds/loans/interest etc can be used for athletic dept purposes if it's related to the PUF dividends or principal.

And lucky for A&M, they had zero to do with the oil discovery, development or any University Land related mgmt. It wasn't that long ago they had zero to do with the investments mgmt of the mineral/surface proceeds & even today it's a fraction of the ultimate mgmt control the UT Regents have over the principal funds. A&M's good fortune was the State of Texas Constitution being written with a few years of the schools foundings and the undetermined future of A&M's status as separate and not a branch of The University. To date UT has received $36B from the PUF dividends while A&M has received $15B and no other state university system has received a dime. A&M fought several decades to get their slice and the others have tried even longer to no avail.

if you were a real longhorn fan I'd say we should keep our fricking mouths shut on this. We haven't done any better than A&M in a long time.

Has anyone done less with more?
You do understand that Texas is not too far behind Texas A&M and Texas has lost fewer than 4 games once in the last 13 years? Granted A&M has lost fewer than 4 games in only two, but they were 11-2 and 9-1 (Covid) Not great, but much better than Texas.
