damn. Jimbo just totally fricked them. I thought he was a great hire at the time. You just never know.
I feel like everyone in the SEC thought it was a fine but overpriced/overcelebrated hire, which it was
I think he was exactly what we expected - a somewhat over the hill but competent coach with a good pedigree and resume but that wasn't really dynamic and would probably decline from here.
Honestly, I think Kelly is somewhat similar - minus the title. They're both probably capable of winning a title given a lot of resources and perhaps a lot of time, but neither is particularly likely to swoop in and change the face of your program to make it dominant. Both are about as boring as you can get for big splash hires.

Is he? I don't see anything on their website about him. Is he an "advisor" or something?

I don't think anyone is worried about aggy spending, everyone is to busy laughing. Here's an article about how the aggy donations are down, and the bills are up.
Trev Alberts was hired by the aggy to be the hatchet man that he is. Newly hired baseball and basketball ball coaches are low cost beginners. Spending on facilities are contract bound and going down the drain. Aggy going to have great facilities to lose in.
Spin away aggy.

Texas A&M 12th Man's Donations Dipped Amid Jimbo Fisher Buyout
Story by Daniel Libit • 3d
The 12th Man Foundation, Texas A&M's athletic fundraising arm, saw its annual revenue drop by more than $25 million from fiscal year 2023 to 2024-just as it assumed the hefty financial burden of helping cover former Aggies football coach Jimbo Fisher's massive buyout.
According to a copy of the organization's latest tax return, obtained by Sportico, the 12th Man Foundation reported bringing in $95.7 million in FY24, set off against $116 million in expenditures. It brought in $121 million in total revenue for FY23, according to its previous IRS filings.
The latest returns show the foundation's overall reported shortfall owed primarily to a decrease in contributions and grants, which went from $113 million in FY23 to $85 million in FY24

the 12th Man Foundation made a donation to the athletics department of $139 million right before they fired Jimbo. They just made another $95 million dollar donation a few weeks ago.
All that hat and no cattle.

I know some of these numbers are hard for most of you to comprehend but sometimes size, and generous alumni, do matter.
Ashame it was all wasted on a glory hole...or maybe that's what the Aggie alums preferred??

A&M Brass has been lost for a long time. There's a couple of them in particular that deserve to have their asses kicked.
