This year there were 6 schools that paid more for assistants than A&M, including Clemson.
There are 2 schools that paid more than $7.5 to their head coaches this year including Clemson.
We're talking about real money being offered to coaches, not theoretical money.
7.5 million could be paid by many schools. And when Texas was rumored to pay $10 million to Saban, Alabama was going to match it.
Unless you're going to pay your future DC more than your head coach or what A&M currently pays their assistants, it could be matched by many schools.

Money isn't everything. He's a top DC at a school that will continue to play for national championships. If he doesn't think he can do that at A&M, he can make a few million more dollars and lose his chance to ever make head coach.

It takes more than money. With Fisher, we had the perfect storm of events. That is why it isn’t Venables. However, any of the others are definitely fair game. I still think it is Foster
