Too bad the Vols have seen him and beat him.

A meaningless conference tournament game isn’t a true measure of him. Both teams are significantly different/better than that game

Thank you Vol fan for that. You clearly watch and know baseball and dont live in a cave like 75% of fans on this site.

SEC tourney results are meaningless. And honestly, Ags lost that game quickly with all the early errors and then Schloss pulled players in prep of CWS. It was over early. Gonna be 100% different. A&M is back to playing their quality of ball.

Good luck, Vols. I want to see a hell of a series that any baseball fan would appreciate. Lets make it truly historical.

I’ve had a bet on Tennessee winning the championship since before the season started

Tennessee is using the Friday night dual pitching matchup they have been using lately. The one where FSU scored a bunch of runs on us. I think A&M gets game 1.

Thats a good strategy given our injury situation. If you can get through some pitchers, game 3 is a gimme for Tennessee.

On paper Tennessee is the favorite. However sometimes superior pitching defeats superior hitting.
Aggies win the series in two games.
But if it goes three games then a slight edge to 10aresee.

Good luck to both teams.

Live in the great state of TN and my son’s buddy from down the street stays decked out in puke Orange most of the year so I guess I’ll pull for them. Captain Obvious input here but it’s postseason baseball with two teams that can both really pitch and swing it. Defense and mistakes on the base paths usually decide these games. I fully expect a 3 game series.

I have a question for A&M fans, but please take it easy on me. I don't follow their team. Why are they playing Jace LaViolette in the field if his hamstring is bad? I understand wanting his bat in the lineup, but couldn't he just DH?

I assume the DH currently is a good bat that might not field well? But wouldn't even the least athletic guy without a bad hamstring be a better option in the field? I suppose not.

Just curious about that situation.

Hayden Schott is current DH and one of the hottest bats in the lineup. His position is pretty secure. He’s been one of our top players, but even hurt, Jace is a better weapon than Schott in the OF.

Jace has an OBP of .550 in Omaha. There’s zero percent chance either of them sits.

Sidenote … Schott also playing with a torn meniscus. We’re a very beat up team.

Whoever loses will have the full force of the Rant Peanut Gallery come down on their heads.

They're just sitting up there, licking their chops, waiting to see who they can say 'choked'.

kywildcafanone, Wildcat Mike, the numerous LSU goobers, etc. Those trolls should just be ignored, and the fans of the winning (and the losing) team shouldn't let themselves get pulled in.

Yes we have become a very damaged team over the last 3 weeks.

We need some epic pitching performances.

I thought I was not going to want to watch this series but I have a feeling it will be some good baseball.
I also think the melts on this board will be epic either way.

Not from me. Baseball is simply a pleasant diversion until football starts for me. The only reason i really care is my uncle was the SEC home run leader one year back in the day, and he's really old now and hoping they finally bring a title home.

Now, HE might melt if we lose

It’s due to necessity. With Montgomery out - there are no other DH options. And Jace can still get around the outfield better than Schott can with a torn meniscus…
