Of course. Would you like compare LSU and Tenner's baseball history? Lsu has more national titles with 6 than Tenner has appearances in Omaha with 5. Go sit down in the corner.

It took Corbin 9 years to get to even sniff Omaha.

What Vitello has done at UT has been very impressive. Not to diminish it but Corbin inherited much worse than what Vitello did.

I'm not arguing Corbin or Vitello, but everyone seems to think Tennessee has the worst facilities for baseball besides Mizzou and had no success in the previous 15 years. Corbin at least got the benefit of a new stadium in year 1 (I think).

?

The appeal of going to LSU is their legacy as a premier baseball school. This would mean adding to that championship legacy.

The appeal of Tennessee is the possibility of building a legacy from the floor up.

So, we agree?

I know your post wasn’t directed at me, but I absolutely want Vitello. Would be ecstatic if he was the hire

I just don’t think Woodard has him at #1 on his list.

LSU was going to make Saban the highest paid HC at the time fwiw.

With that being said, the reports of how much we supposedly offered him are outrageous. I can’t believe they’re true. Sexton playing games to get Vitello the most money possible from Tennessee IMO.

You would think so. But I think the majority of the fans wanted to believe we did offer that much for him. I don’t think there’s a chance in hell.

It won't be long - might be this year honestly, before coaches break the 2M mark in the SEC.

Wikipedia claims Corbin is in the $2.3mm range - so take that for what its worth.

I have no doubt that IF any of the shite floating around is true - say LSU offering $2.1mm - then Tenn could match it. Question is do they want to - because again - based on rumors, along with that big pay bump comes lot o capitol investment in upgrades. I'm guessing if the Tenn decision makers do not see a good, timely ROI - then they will say pass.

There was an article from a few years ago - showing what college baseball programs actually showed a profit - I recall LSU being at the top, with only a handful in the black - maybe a few others breaking even. Would be interesting to see something current. College baseball no doubt has continued to get stronger each year - but sure seems like the increase in viewership/support -whatever - have continued to get higher and higher year over year as of late.

Damn - I complain about wanting Saban to retire, or any other coach - I think above all, I'm ready for Sexton to retire. Feel like every time his name was involved in anything LSU related - we end up in a coaching search or leveraged out the arse on mediocrity

the worst thing about Vandy baseball is the whistler hands down. The park needs some attention but seriously screw that dude. Cheer for your team, be loud, even a little obnoxious. The whistler thinks its all about him. dude needs to get over himself
