Congratulations to Tennessee for their HISTORIC season! The Volunteers managed to make the Elite 8 for the second time in school history. Joining the likes of:

Could be worse a lot worse moving forward actually. Imagine if instead of Barnes we had a huckster like Calipari now annually gifting the alumni/fanbase an entirely new core roster of teenage freshmen each fall incapable of ever showing any semblance of a basketball program fully "buying into" a culture and vision established by the head coach! Ensuring that every guy on your roster prioritizes doing WHATEVER is asked of them in order to unselfishly improve the chances of the entire TEAM winning no matter what just isn't a Calipari thing! "It's about the individual draft stock of each future NBA player" as he openly says all the team. Whereas UK winning and advancing is more of a secondary aspiration according to him.
Being consistently bounced in the round of 64 by randomly obscure basketball program's that must use roll out white boards and projectors on the side of the gym floor as their "film rooms" only to have to start over each fall with totally new and temporary roster pieces sounds like a fun spot to find your favorite basketball program being at.
Terrifying merely imaging a theoretical where Cal was the Vols head coach and Barnes was instead in Lexington implementing a team first, "we expect you to be here for at least 3 or 4 years" locker room culture of 4 star/occasional low end 5 star players at a school with the resources and reach of mighty UK basketball! Barnes would create a consistent beast of a basketball program at a place like Kentucky. And y'all know it's true. Enjoy Cal though until y'all decide to pay him TENS of millions just to leave town. Jealous!
