just is what it is I have been a loyal fan for over 30 years but I started to lose some interest when we got in sec. because I knew it was too good for us in football. Then SEC committed to making basketball better and now we are getting beat bad there. So I will have no clue how Mizzou does I will never watch another game or listen to another game or read another article about them and my hope is the majority of fans do the same thing. Makes zeros sense for a northern school to play in a southern conference where high school sports are huge in Missouri high school sports is an afterthought.

drink and martin are good coaches and very decent men I hope drink can get to a program ere he has a chance to win. Martin will probably get into politics he is as decent a person as you will ever meet. Just can't get good players to come to Mizzou porters only came because their dad was a coach there.

All Tennessee has to do is run the ball. We can't stop crap.

Man the way these Arkansas folks talk you wouldn’t know that we’re 7-1 against them since joining the SEC and won five straight. They sure get arrogant after winning a few games against overrated Texas schools.

Must win game. Hopefully, we're not too banged up.

Ok ArHog....I will give you this one. Pretty funny and yet accurate description of both programs.

Dude, Milton is awful. Hooker isn't much better, but he's a little better.

If Drink loses this game that seat starts to get hot. If he's any good he has no business losing this game

If these two teams play, and no one tunes in on TV to watch it, does it really happen?
My answer is no.
My answer is no.

Mizzou is seeing what happens when the previous coach can't recruit. Barry Odom had recruiting classes in the 40's and maybe even one in low 50's.
He hit on very few prospects.....mostly left Mizzou completely bare at LB and thin at DL, especially DT.
Drink is recruiting very well, but not enough to fill the void of Barry Odom recruiting.
Mizzou can still win some games, because we have a good enough offense and the defense has created some turnovers.

Vols any updates on that Mayes kid at center? I respect him for trying to stay in that game but that shite looked painful.

Exactly, we're going to have an ugly year or two before Drink's classes are hitting upperclass age. Then we can start to judge him on merit. Right now, Drink has almost zero talent to work with on the defensive side of the ball, so he is going to get a few years almost regardless of how bad we look out there.
So far Drink has managed a top 25 class in his first year and the 16th ranked recruiting class in his second year, if he keeps this up, we should be solid. It will be the most talent Mizzou has ever had on the field at least in terms of recruiting grades.
As for this game, I'd take Tennessee by a touchdown, our defense couldn't slow down Central Michigan or Boston College so I don't see how we are going to fix that now. We're extremely undersized up front and couldn't get any pressure on BC's quarterback (lol). Worse than that, our linebackers continue to make absolutely horrible reads which is forcing our back four to cheat up and give up long passes as a result.

Tennessee's run game looked good opening the 3rd quarter against Florida...then the Center (Cooper Mayes), RB (Evans), and QB (Hooker) all got banged up. If the three of them are anywhere close to 100%, it greatly improves UT's chances of moving the ball. Without any, or all of them...UT's offense is pedestrian at best.

I am really enjoying scramble’s melt in this thread.
However, I can 100% guarantee he could not handle being a VOL fan. Battered VOL Syndrome is the way of life now. So many folks - Mizz fans, LSU fans, AUB fans - are in the dumps after a couple bad seasons. Try 14 straight seasons.
This (and next week vs SCar) is a must win game for Tennessee if we want to reach a bowl. As someone else noted, injuries and lack of depth will hurt us.
I think VOLS escape with a narrow win, because Mizzou is bad. But Tennessee is also bad, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Bazelak and Badie and whoever else drag their nuts all over us and win by 20.
