With hopes as high as Smoky Mountain peaks.
Their orange pride lit up the modern age,
A roaring flame that fiery passion speaks.

The playoff lights did gleam, a golden hue,
As Tennessee prepared to stake their claim.
Yet fate, a rival team perhaps anew,
Did snuff the spark and douse the raging flame.

Each pass, each run, each play they dared to try,
Met by the foe with crushing, cold disdain.
Their dreams of glory faltered, left to die,
While fans stood stunned with their butts in pain.
