Absolutely false!

Our campus is straight Soviet style. If Tennessee is worse, that is saying something.

Several of the buildings look like they were transplanted from soviet Russia. Catch UT on a rainy day and you’ll swear you’re there.

In March, Neyland Stadium (Shield Watkins Field) will be 100 years old. Most of the SEC Stadiums are getting a bit long in the tooth. Here are the SEC stadiums ranked oldest to newest (year of ground breaking):

Ole Miss - Vaught-Hemmingway - 1912
Mississippi State - Davis Wade - 1914
Tennessee - Neyland - 1921
Vanderbilt - Dudley Field - 1922
LSU - Tiger Stadium - 1924
Missouri - Faurot Field - 1925
Texas A&M - Kyle Field - 1927
Alabama - Bryant Denny - 1928
Georgia - Sanford - 1928
Florida - Ben Hill Griffin - 1930
South Carolina - Williams-Brice - 1934
Arkansas - Donald W. Reynolds - 1937
Auburn - Jordan-Hare - 1939
Kentucky - Commonwealth/Kroger Field - 1972

This is incorrect. Davis-Wade stadium is the oldest in the SEC, and the second oldest in the Power 5.

I have noted before that I have visited a number of colleges around the country, and almost without fail... land-grant institutions all have that same look.

It's like some nameless Dept. of Agriculture architect in 1968 designed a bunch of buildings around the nation that all look the same.

But to be fair about it, the late 60's were the height of the baby boom and a LOT of high schools have the same look as well.

If you look at the post I stated, "ranked by year ground broken", not by first game played.

Davis Wade - Broke Ground 1914, First Game Oct. 3, 1914
Vaught-Hemingway - Broke Ground 1912, First Game October 1, 1915

JMO but I think one thing holding TN back is they are in severe need of an upgrade To facility. Kids live that crap now a days. They don’t give a frick about history and tradition.

There are many things wrong. By this point it really doesn't matter.

This makes no sense.

I don't really remember their campus, but Knoxville was a fun town. Neyland stadium is an absolute dump however. That place needs a total overhaul.

Knoxville is a good town in an absolutely gorgeous area of this country, especially this time of year with the foliage.

I’m a student who’s been there. While it’s not the most fun for students/nightlife compared to other destinations, Knoxville is generally very nice and the campus is too. The only thing bad is the seats at Neyland

This is how I know you 1) haven't been to our campus in the past few years and/or 2) have never been to Vanderbilt's or A&M's campus

FYI, The oldest part of the stadium still standing dates from 1967 (east 2nd deck). The 1927 stands (west side of the original horseshoe) were demolished after the 2014 season.
