All I knew about the Auburn/Arky game was the final score. And I was a little surprised to see that Arkansas:

-Owned time of possession
- Matched Auburn's first downs (13)
- Held auburn to 4/13 on third downs
- Held Auburn to 225 total yards
- Held Auburn to 91 total rush yards on 36 attempts.

Arkansas' defense was awful last year, and appears to have improved under Chief. Fair assessment? Will A&M be able to move the ball easily?

It's not their defense.

Arky is switching from big-boy football to Aggy Chad spread shite. They don't have the personnel to run his offense, and therefore cannot score.

Texas High School Football has gone to shite.

We actually have an extremely talented starting 11 on defense. It's unfortunate that likely it will go unrecognized because of horrible special teams and offense. Agim, Pulley, Ramsey, Greenlaw, and Harris all have NFL futures IMO. Maybe a little early to say but I wouldn't be surprised if Bumper does too.

Their d-line is solid. Secondary decent. Offense needs quite a bit of work all around.

It's amazing what spread offenses have done to texas high school fb. It's pretty much hot garbage top to bottom now.

This is dumb. We threw 6 interceptions. North Texas had 11/20 drives start at midfield, or within Arkansas territory.

Defense is actually solid. #1 Rush Defense in the SEC(7th Nationally)

Offense/Special Teams is the problem. We've played 4QB's this year, and finally settled on a starter last week.

During the Auburn game, they had an average starting position of the 49 yard... defense did the best they could.

And without looking it up(for the Third and Chavis crowd), I think Auburn finished 4/13 on 3rd downs.

AU's offense sucks right now. Hoover HS would give us fits at the moment.

North Texas scored on an INT, and Punt Return and one drive longer than 45 yards. Arkansas' special teams and offense didn't do the defense any favors. North Texas had less than 100 yards rushing (3.3 ypc) and completed 52% of their passes. Arkansas throwing 6 ints is UT vs Florida bad.

North Texas almost had 30 more rushing yards than they had in interception yards, and 6 more than they had in punt return yards (and they only returned 1 punt).

It's safe to say our defense is a lot better than it has been the last two years, but it's still a little too early to say how good they are yet. We have great rush defense numbers and are up there in forced fumbles, but the teams we've played:

1. Either don't run the ball much or don't have SEC-level rushing attacks (CSU, EIU and UNT)
2. Have had short fields to work with almost all game due to an awful offense and special teams, leading to low yardage totals regardless of how the defense plays

I think we'll learn a lot more about the defense against A&M. If our offense doesn't turn the ball over 6 times each game like they did against North Texas and leave them on the field all game then I think the defense should be pretty decent all year.

If we can just play a game where the other team doesnt start at midfield, we might actually have a chance. Having a terrible punter is killing us.
