Kind of shitty for 10 RC. Dan Lanning did you a solid. So you go try to stab another coach/program in the back. So much for honor.
They all do this to each other. You tried to do it to Tennessee and did do it to A & M. Kirby did it to Alabama when leaving for Georgia. It’s just business and expected in the world of college sports.

Well, Josh Heupel saying, “No one is bigger than the power T.” when he was announcing Nico’s dismissal looked kinda like an ethical stand….
But, in general it does seem pragmatic of Heupel to get Nico off the team after what it is reported that he/his family did.

That’s not ethics, that’s management. Ethics is not something that sticks out when talking about college sports programs.

And Tennessee is an expert on that.

Any program worth a damn is an expert on that. The best programs have the most expertise. Tennessee has room to grow.

Yeah this is false. There’s about 4 big 12 QBs that are better fits than Hoover in Heupel’s offense. Needs a willing runner to perform its best.
But sure, some guy at the telegram must know. Hoovers agent got himself a raise.

But yes I have no doubt they’re trying to poach an ACC/Big 10/Big 12 QB by throwing 3-4 million, it just isn’t Hoover.

Got it, I should trust a stranger on a message board over the TCU beat writer for a major news outlet.

If this is true it’s tampering … if he calls ncaa Tenn will be in trouble .

I would trust a stranger at a Greyhound bus station over any beat writer.

Tennessee is just doing what tennessee does. Everyone that was putting them on a pedestal for taking a stand was wrong. UT would have paid if they thought he was worth it.

Got it. Fans know more than people who are around the program literally
every day.
Look I understand the hostility toward beat writers because fans expect the kind of 100% positive, all is sunshine and buttercups coverage that Pravda gives the Kremlin. They also think reporters carry loyalty to their alma maters to their grave and are perpetually trying to screw rivals of their alma maters.
It doesn’t work that way. Writers are not supposed to be fans of the teams they cover in any shape, form or fashion, period, the end, nor should they report only positive developments and ignore the dirt, although 100% of them will tell you that their jobs are easier when things are going well.
And as far as loyalty to your alma mater, that ends the day you get your diploma if you’re going to work in the trade. My alma mater is Jacksonville State, as reflected in my signature. I have nothing against the school or its athletic teams, I cheer for those teams to do well. But if in the course of my reporting, I had come across information that would not just get JSU put on probation, it would ensure it got the death penalty, I’d run that story without a millisecond’s hesitation because doing what I needed to as a reporter, following the story where it led regardless of the ramifications for anyone involved, always, 100% of the time, took precedence over any loyalty to my alma mater.

Why is it that Heupel is looking for another quarterback? It must sucks to be Tennessee without a true starting quarterback right now at this time of the year for this coming season. Tennessee is likely going to be in a rebuilding year this coming season if he decides to stick with the ones already on the team.

Is that why missou pulled a qb out of the portal? The ones you had left must have sucked…

Funny how all the negative stories that are now coming out about Nico by the local “beat” reporters were stories they knew about over the course of the 24 months but somehow now it’s ok to report. You may do a great job but as an industry I put little stock in “beat reporters”.

Maybe he simply believes TCU (and Big 12 competition) gives him better opportunity to shine as a QB.
Maybe he wants no part of the meat grinder and is trying to avoid injury as well.
I doubt it’s his undying love for TCU. He’s got his reasons. Most likely his stats and his health will fare better at TCU.

Drinkwitz is happy with what he has and one of them will be the starter and do well enough to beat Arkansas this coming season.

That’s been his primary goal and what missou has hung their hat on for sure . Pretty pathetic….
