"2-2, beating UGA..."
Gees dude, Texas beat UGA in the 2019 Sugar bowl. That might as well have been in the Jurassic period.
Not to mention we were missing 2 starting OLinemen, a banged up RB, our starting, and future NFL, Dlineman, LB and 2 DBs. And you STILL only beat us 28-21. I wouldn't be bragging about that too much. You took down Bama last year and that's about the only thing Texas has to brag about for the last freakun decade.

quote:I'd say Mike Evans was a much better reason. Put Johnny Foosball on a team with normal receivers and a huge percentage of his backyard football style balls don't get caught downfield. It's part of the reason he flames out in the NFL...that style of football was only suited to that team at that moment in time.
Johnny football was the reason for texags great 1st year in SEC after that they went 9 years or so NEVER having another winning record in conference play. Mizzou did great 2nd and 3rd year in. After that not so much till LAST year.

Mizzou had a 2013 & 2014 teams that where loaded with NFL DL & OL players and a CFL QB.
A&M had Johnny Football.
Those teams handled Okie State and OU in the bowls.

Texas has a few as well as Cali, but the Southeast offers all positions.

Way to reinforce you don’t know shite about college football. Have the better QB. LSU 2023 is the latest exhibit.

Is this why Texas has a winning record against 12 of the 15 current SEC schools and OU 8 of 13? OU has never played MSU or USC.
You and I both know those records were built in the "good old days."

And yet in our last 4 games vs SEC teams go 2-2 beating Georgia, Alabama in Tuscaloosa, lose to Bama in Austin by 1, and give the BEST TEAM EVAR the most competitive game they played all season long.
I can't wait till the season gets underway so this stupid beating of the horse goes away.

That blue chip roster Bud did does NOT account for transfer additions. Bud did another one that DOES include transfers. If you would have continued reading instead of heading for a moist towelette you would have seen it.
In the one with transfers sooners fall below both texass and LSU. ou tied with a7m and nd at #8.

EVERY SEC TEAM will want a piece of both new teams for the foreseeable future. Officiating in the SEC is no better than any other conference.

There’s no denying that reality. I think Big12 coaches have been superior to the SEC staffs the last 20 years or so. I’m glad Sark had to deal with the likes of Gundy, Patterson, Klienman, Campbell, etc. They forced Sark to face his 3-3-5 boogeyman. They forced our defensive coordinator PK to be more fluid in his defensive alignments. I think our coaching staff as a whole is better for having to face some of those legendary offensive and defensive minds.

bullshite. Mizzou & A&M came into the SEC loaded with TXHSB talent. A&Ms 2012 roster had NFL guys up and down the lineup.

Yet the sooners were not in the last THREE xii CCG. Guess a few of those lesser talents beat you multiple times.
According to one of those '24composite roster rankings making the rounds VANDERBILT (worst roster in SEC) roster is BETTER than SEVEN of remaining xii teams. Dores came in at #42. Best of the xii was tcu at #31.
Chew on that for a second

Really don't give a rats arse what you think those rosters were loaded with. After '12 texags were an after thought. Went next 9 years never having a winning SEC record. After their great 2 year run to atlanta, mizzou wasn't much either. Till '23.

That's fine, I've got to see most of LSU's success in my lifetime.

This is the Boise state effect. You can win a game you shouldn't when it's the only one. I can't wait for a sub .500 sec team to roll into Austin and have Their second team rb rush for 250 because.
