Saw on ESPN's bottom line. Manziel leads the FBS in completion % from the pocket at 77.5%. Soph. slump is in full affect.

That stat must be confused. It obviously doesn't know that JFF can't throw from the pocket.

did the hideous sling it up for grabs pass Manziel completed in the Alabama game this season count as "from the pocket "?

No.
But it did count toward his record performance against Bama.

And 8 completions to the other team as well. With Manziel's ability to run and then effectively throw the ball like he does that limits the coverages/blitz schemes/packages that any defense can run against him. The real sophomore slump it appears to be is not in his completion percentage. It has been shown that he while he is great at creating his own plays even somewhat complete passing concepts when he improvises. I don't watch a ton of A&M film other than the live games but I still can't put the problem to it. It could be easy to simply say that Manziel likes to play with swagger in that he trusts his arm/abilities way to much. But in reality when what I have watched of him is that he does make good rational decisions with the football a good chunk of the time he is playing. So it isn't that Manziel is an idiot or doesn't know what he is doing. It is almost like he literally flips a switch between playing QB like seems to be taught to almost "Evil" Johnny where he tends to disregard even basic QB principles like the stuff you teach to the kids playing Pee Wee.

That's pretty impressive, will help his draft.
