Do Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M want more money? #Yessir

quote:

With a $5 million-a-year contract and a catchy hashtag that was drawing marketing interest, did Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M officials think it would be a good idea to play some trademark defense and maybe generate a few more bucks along the way? YESSIR!

quote:

Within a few weeks, the hashtag is scheduled to begin appearing on yet another medium — T-shirts from Adidas that also will carry the Texas A&M logo. Sales will result in royalties being paid to Sumlin’s LLC and to the university, which is eager to keep its coach, its gear-hungry fans and its corporate partner happy while promoting and controlling its own brand too.

Pretty smart marketing on Sumlin's side TBH. Surprised it's legal however considering he will personally be profiting.

He's a coach not a student athlete, why would it be illegal?

The ncaa was sued (successfully) for profiting on the backs of college athletes.

So so so sad.

Can only imagine how much time you spent searching to come up with this.

I love a good aggie roast, but I enjoy the free market and couldn't care less that Sumlin is lining his pockets with a painfully cheesy signature line.

If there are aggies that would actually buy that dumb shirt, by all means douche it up. We all have those fans who never fail to buy the ugliest shite on the rack every Saturday.

Profiting from his kids? Don't all coaches profit from their chosen profession?

I'm not dumping on Sumlin at all so don't take it the wrong way b/c frankly he is exactly what your school needed.

It's just surprising he is able to profit personally when he is paid to do a specific job. Should his players be ok with him profiting off of them and not seeing any compensation? It's very similar to NCAA video games and the argument against it.

Are you dumb? Every coach profits from his players. I don't care if they have a LLC or just off their contract to coach. Grow up

No, they should not. They should expect him to work for free like all the other college coaches.
