Your lack of knowledge is evident. I’m 2012, Sumlin took over a very talented O Line from Mike Sherman, in addition to Manziel and future all pro Mike Evans. With those weapons Kliff Kingsbury ran a great offense. Sumlin screwed up everything he was given, subsequently. You are trying to compare two completely scenarios.

He literally said nothing, and smirked at a few jokes. Nothing to see here!

He sat there staring ahead blankly chewing his gum while everyone around him did all the work. The Sumlin coaching philosophy on full display right there.

If Sumlin doesn’t get credit for 2012

Sumlin gets credit for JFF about as much as Ed O gets for Burrow. Those guys just had “it”.

shite at least Coach O had to talk to Burrow before he transferred in. Sumlin had a ready made winner dropped right in his lap. Mike Sherman must have been going out of his mind seeing somebody else get the credit the team he built.

Hell, Sherman would have likely been a far better influence and Manziel and maybe could have reigned him in as he absolutely would have had the nuts to suspend him for partying too much.

That’s why comparing just year 1 would be completely unfair… but dude 4 1/2 seasons is plenty of data points. A lot of coaches these days don’t last that long. After 53 games both coaches are 37-16.
That’s the bottom line. same results 3 times the cost.

This makes no sense. If it's not fair to count year 1 than Jimbo is ahead of Sumlin

Sumlin
'13 - 9-4 (this was w/Manziel and Evans still on the team)
'14 - 8-5
'15 - 8-5
'16 - 8-5

Jimbo
'19 - 8-5
'20 - 9-1
'21 - 8-4 (somehow beat Bama w/friggin Calzada something Sumlin never could have done)
'22 - ??? (currently 3-2)

On TD I'm probably the biggest Aggy Jimbo detractor and was probably one of the bigger Aggy Sumlin apologists. Even I would rather have Jimbo over Sumlin.

I hate hate hate Jimbo's contract BUT his issues are far more correctable than Sumlin's ever were.

Jimbo's biggest problem is his play calling and overly complicated offense that requires everyone be perfect all the time. If he just gives up playcalling and scales back some the offense things should turn around. While I do doubt that he'll be willing to do that it's at least possible things can be fixed.

With Sumlin there were a ton of things that piled up that were just not fixable. He was he was such a heavy drinker that A&M had to hire a person just to drive him around so he wouldn't get a DUI and had to keep guys on staff to try and babysit him. That crap set a terrible example for the team and his lax treatment of the players led to massive discipline issues on the team. For example, Kenny Hill didn't get benched b/c he had no talent. He got benched b/c he thought he could go out drinking every night and got wasted the night before Bama beat out arse 59-0. shite he even passed out in the middle of North Gate at one point. Another issue w/Sumlin was he was a total a-hole to his players to the point that he wouldn't even talk to them one on one. A major reason Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray both transferred out on him in the same week was b/c they got tired of him yanking them in and out of the lineup w/zero heads up on what was going to happen. He would have needed to quit drinking and completely change his personality to right the ship which is a hell of a lot bigger task than realizing you need to hire an OC. This was proven by how rapidly Arizona disintegrated under him and by the fact he is now reduced to coaching in the USFL.

I didn’t get my point across… I meant you can’t make conclusions after just one year… so Year 1 Sumlin did much better and you couldn’t judge Fisher after just one season because he didn’t win as many games… now 73 games is plenty of data to draw some conclusions.

I remember going to a game in college station during the sumlin years and some fans started chanting “five million dollars”.
