Video

As he should. He delivered slightly better results for less than half the price.

Kevin Sumlin was his own worst enemy. His coaching philosophy was the opposite of Jimbo’s. Sumlin was hired for his offensive genius, he delegated play play calling to Kliff Kingsbury. After KK’s departure he hired bad OC’s. Sumlin totally delegated his offensive to his OC’s. With Noel Mazzone probably the worst OC play caller in college football, Sumlin was exposed. Jimbo calls his own plays. Won’t delegate any calls.

Was told by serious A&M fan that NIL and their oil deep pockets would put A&M atop SEC.

Can only presume that whatever is inside this serious A&M fan that makes their adrenal gland fire at watching Yell Leaders at Midnight Yell practice is the same thing that prevents their understanding of what makes a championship football program and why A&M ain't it, NIL and their oil deep pockets, included.

Sumlin hasn't put together a competent football team even once, anywhere he's been, since Kingsbury left his staff.

Dude is a fraud that rode a talented coordinator's coattails for as long as he could, and then crashed and burned without him.

This.

Look where they are now.

Sumlin is unemployed and KK is a head coach in the NFL with a playoff birth last season coming off a record of 11-6.

I have the complete opposite take on that video. That was nervous laughter on Sumlin's part.

He was terrified he was going to be asked a question. And he never said a word.

He like "Oh Lord please let this segment be over and nobody talk to me".

Jimbo knows a little something about riding coattails.

Sumlin lost eventual Heisman winner Kyler Murray. And after being fired promptly failed at Arizona.

Sumlin got fired b/c he was a drunk a-hole who managed to burn down every bridge he had at A&M.

He should have been fired after he lost 2 QBs who went to the NFL in Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray in the same week. He was lucky as hell to get two more years after that and it took his moron self blowing a 44-17 4th quarter lead to finally lose every single person at A&M who had his back.

He can piss and moan about getting fired all he wants but he has only himself to blame.

It was an incredible run of QB talent that translated into almost nothing.

You think they had:
Manziel
Allen
Murray

And then the kid whose name I forget who went from September Heisman to benched. You could just tell there was major dysfunction going on behind the scenes because the talent wasn’t translating to the field.

Yep. And that was ALL on Sumlin.

Sumlin also ran off two 5 star QBs within a week of each other, allowed the second biggest comeback in FBS history, and flamed out at his next stop within 2 years. Nothing he did besides starting Johnny and letting Kliff Kingsbury run his offense the first year contributed to him deserving more time at A&M. As posts above stated, if hes got sour grapes over his time here, he’s got nobody to blame but himself.

Idk why he's laughing, it's not like this validates him in any way or means A&M should have kept him. If anything Jimbo's the one that should be laughing for getting far more money for basically equal results.

How is that different than Fisher riding Elko’s D the past few years were A&M has won some games despite his own Offensive ineptitude?

If Sumlin doesn’t get credit for 2012 for this or that… why don’t do the same for the COVID season with all its anomalies and him riding a talented DC for Fisher?

Can’t have it both ways.
