In all seriousness, why do you think that? Just because it's SEC, because it's Ole Miss and Trinidad Chambliss.
It's not 2025 anymore. Almost all of the staff that made Ole Miss into a National Title contender last year are now in Baton Rouge. Pete Golding stayed, but honestly, I think a lot of that is because Lane Kiffin knew he wasn't good enough for LSU.
So you have a new coaching staff and a Head Coach who is a DUI drunk and way over his head. The Louisville Head Coach, Jeff Brohm, will coach circles around Pete Golding. Never mind Jeff Brohm thrives in these situations.
Louisville has the advantage at running back (with possibly the best running back combination in the country) and on defense. Louisville's only noticeable weak point is Offensive Line and QB. Both positions have good players, but they haven't worked with each other in a game situation.
If Louisville can even remotely control the Ole Miss pass rush, Louisville should win this game.
Sorry but it isn't 2025 anymore. Pete Golding has to prove he's anything other than an unkempt drunk. Pete Golding has to prove he's not just another kid who was given the keys to a Porsche and won't immediately crash the Porsche.

Ah watched lane kiffin almost get lsu thrown out of the sec and then shove an innocent kid for no reason. LSU will be good but it's not nice to have to root for that piece of shite

Why? Ole Miss got good on the backs of drastically over-performing, low-rated players. They just magically got good at Ole Miss.
It’s entirely possible that the reason that they all performed so much better than they did elsewhere was not because of coincidence, but because they had a wizard making it easier.
They’ve replaced that wizard with John Blutarsky.
I expect a lot of “bad games” and slow starts from offensive players that looked great last year.

It's been well established by CBS and ESPN that most consider Louisville to have the best running back room in the country. Isaac Brown might end up being better than Kewan Lacy.
Even if not, Ole Miss has very little after Lacy. And after Isaac Brown, Louisville has Keyjuan Brown and Chris Barclay. Louisville has a pretty lethal 1 - 2 punch at running back, whereas Ole Miss is a one man show at the position.
Plus, those running backs at Louisville have Jeff Brohm, an offensive minded coach who knows how to best utilize his talent on offense.
Kewan Lacy now has a defensive minded coach in Pete Golding who won't have a clue how to utilize the talent on offense without Charlie Weis Jr. as OC to bail him out.
Charlie Weis Jr. is why Ole Miss beat UGA and almost beat Miami in the CFP. Pete Golding had next to nothing to do with it.
And we've seen plenty of times in college football, you can have talented offensive players, but if the coaching staff doesn't know how to properly utilize them, they can still be ineffective.

Pretty obvious LSU should blow us out in a couple weeks. I mean with about $10M more in payroll and at least that difference in coaching staff salaries, they should beat us as bad if not worse than what happened to clemson

Neither is Ole Miss, and coaching is still very important. Kiffin coached up the Ole Miss players. Ole Miss would've been a 7 - 5 team last year without Kiffin.
I'll put it down here right now, Ole Miss is the most overrated team in the country coming into 2026. And neither professiona QB Trinidad Chambliss nor RB Kewan Lacy will even make it to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony in December.
And let me put this in bold, Ole Miss goes 7 - 5 this year and doesn't get anywhere near the CFP.
Ole Miss will lose to LSU, Louisville, UGA, Texas and either Oklahoma, Missouri or Florida.
