This chart is very misleading, but interesting none the less. State and LSU posted a .700 winning percentage in the Big Five Sports. Vanderbilt went 58-12 in baseball and still finished last.

Yeah that chart sucks. Find the win percentage for each sport and then average that out.

it's mainly misleading because it gives equal weight to all wins/losses and some sports play significantly more games than others

Yeah it's silly. Take the winning percentage of each sport and average it out. And also weight it by revenue produced.

Most lopsided numbers are MSU's women's basketball and Alabama's softball teams.

That said, things like this don't work as well because having an above average baseball team + average football team will trump an average baseball team + great football team every time due to volume.

I could not come up with a worse way to do this?

Football makes up less than 6% of the total of this apparent big 5 (never heard of it).

Only 10 D1 baseball programs turn a profit.

Come up with a weighting by sport significance, averaged by sport win percentage and get back to us.

my suggestion for sport weighting:

Football x1
Mens Basketball x.8
Baseball x.5
Womens BB x.2
Softball x.008
