I thought the article said he was going to Alabama?

Seriously, he is obviously a very smart and level-headed young man and I wish him well. Ivy League educations are only marginally better that what a good public university will offer. You pay a lot of money just for the name on the diploma.

tend to agree. Obviously, leaving college with no debt or loans compared to having a shite ton of debt is a great thing. But, he could go his whole entire life pointing to that degree that says Harvard on it instead of Alabama. That alone could likely open so many more doors for him down the road. But, if that's what he wants to do then good for him I

If this guy was accepted at all Ivy league schools and couldn't afford them, I think what he did was the right thing. Listen, obviously the guy was smart and talented enough to get into those schools, so it's not like it matters anyway. I'm pretty sure there are tons of millionaires that graduated from Bama, or at the very least attended. There are plenty Ivy league dropouts who are millionaires too.

He can create his own doors if he was accepted to all the Ivy league schools.

Yeah what dumbass for not wanting to accumulate a mountain of debt, and choosing to go to a school that will pay for 4 full years of school while getting a great SEC school experience.

His extra debt would be laid off in a couple of years with the higher salaried positions he would be offered compared to a Bama degree. You truly can't be that dumb to not realize he was offered education at the most elite universities in the world and that would be worth having some debt.
If there ever was a reason on earth to have debt, it would be to graduate from an Ivy league school!

That's not how salaries in medicine work.

Where is he going to work with that Bama degree?

Relax, it won't be at Walmart or Tyson.
